Great overview of key concepts in financing real estate development. Some topics confirmed what what I know. Some definitely expanded my knowledge.The examples were relevant and illuminating.

Solid introduction to real-estate finance
This book has been a solid introduction to real-estate finance; but has a noticeable number of mathematical errors in the examples/tables/spreadsheets; and in some cases, fails to fully explain how certain numbers are derived--which, if you're trying to learn how real-estate financial modeling works--is important. But all in all, it was an acceptable introduction to the subject. (I found I learned the modeling stuff I needed on the website "Adventures in Commercial Real Estate".)

but finance does have it's own language and Long does an excellent job of translating for the newbie
I'm studying affordable housing and this book was enormously helpful! You can't really understand why something costs so much (or so little) without understanding the finances supporting the final price. Long breaks down all the different costs and ways that developers pay for them with many real world examples. It's not rocket science, but finance does have it's own language and Long does an excellent job of translating for the newbie.

Excellent Reference Manual
This book pays itself just by showing you the economics of how much to pay for a property to make a real development profitable.

Excellent Base Level Development Knowledge
Great book for learning the full development cycle, from concept, to design and construction, and knowledge of the variety of capital markets and funding sources available to developers. Highly recommend.

Solid book, but the first edition needs editing
The book got me through a real estate development course. Images are in black and white. 1st edition needs editing.

Strong on the basics
A good basic tool for leaning. I used it at the suggestion of ULI to put together a class. It was a great book to create an outline and had some good examples a bit basic but for introduction it was fine.

Everything about real estate development finance and more
On the first glance, the book seems to be too thin for the expensive price, however almost every sentence includes useful information (at least for me - developer beginner). There is no garbage text to artificially inflate the page count.It's targeted for US market but I find it very similar here (Slovakia).

Terrible Book
Poor info, it's not even a good book for beginners. Really a waste of time
