God Bless John Wayne: A Novel (Kinky Friedman Novels (Paperback))

At first I was impressed by the parchment wrapper carefully folded around the book cover. But when I unwrapped it there was an almost 2" sticker covering the author's name. It read "20% Off". Reminded me of a Barnes & Noble tag. It did not come off easily. I used a hot hair dryer, then had to scrape a bit off with my fingernail. Still left a sticky residue. The stickiness came off with a lot of rubbing alcohol. But the cover is now marred. I bought this book to add to my collection of the author.

Like everything the man writes, there's a laugh on every page. Folded up in the same package are points to ponder, as the underlying philosophical journey on which you embark takes you through tunnels of suspense past pop up portraits of entertaining characters, wound around life lessons along the way to twists and turns and a surprise ending. Did I make that clear enough? But the book, get a jigger of Old Bushmills or some Man in Black Tequila... sit back and be entertained.

The kinkster is always entertaining. Enjoyable read.

Kinky Friedman should have been elected governor of Texas; however, he wasn't. But, he is a brilliant man with a diverse sense of writing and humor. I have read everything he has written and while each is unique, each is enjoyable in its own way. God Bless Kinky Friedman.

I love all of Kinky's books. I got to meet him at a signing one time and treasure that. He is always entertaining and you never know where his plot is going to take you next!! Long live Kinky and please write more books
