For years my husband has complained that I throw out too much food that goes bad. His idea was that I buy less therefore having less to waste. I finally figured out how to make fruits and vegetables last longer and now I mostly put leftovers in the freezer. So basically I'm saving a lot of money not wasting food and my husband is happier. So like today I took my bell peppers out of the produce drawer and they were still OK to use. Very often before I had these little bluapples the peppers would go moldy and soft very quickly. I also found this helps celery not to go bad as fast. So dinner was a success because the vegetables were still looking good! I have one of these little apples in the vegetable drawer and one in the fruit drawer. I think keeping everything separate that way is advised! I got a bag of replacement packages so I don't run out! Marking the replacement day down on your calendar is key or you can sign up for notifications I guess. I'm happy with these and I can already see how they are going to save me a lot of money. Plus did I mention my husband is going to be happier???? Waste not Want not! Fruit saver

First off I am a fridge freak and clean it out every Sunday before Monday trash day. I'm not quite sure what my son left in the fridge while we were on vacation for two weeks, but it smelt like road kill! Despite having a baking soda box in the fridge this death smell was on everything in the fridge including everything new that I brought in. The baking soda box I had in there, which I've always kept in the fridge stunk like death too and I nearly passed out as I sniffed it and threw up a little in my mouth. I thoroughly cleaned that sucker out with new baking soda on each shelf and it still stunk several days later. I put two Bluapples in the fridge and in 2 days that smell was completely gone. Plus my salad mix has lasted an extra week than normal. I know they weren't ment to be a deodorizer, but that's what I used them for and luckily they worked. They were more then I was hoping to spend and I bought a years refills with my fingers crossed. It was this or take my fridge out to pasture, set it on fire and buy a new one. I would buy these again! No more gagging when I open the door. P.S. He got a talking to about his lack of fridge cleaning in our absence.

I think they work (we use for bananas) and have no problem with them, but my partner says they give bananas an "off" taste (that I'd don't notice. We also had one batch of bananas that were left for over a week and they came out of the plastic bag we stored them in soft and ikky.

Works great until you forget to change it. If you keep up with changing the packets, you will notice a big difference in the lack of spoilage of your fruit and vegetables.

Veggies and fruits produce ethylene gas which hastens the ripening (hence rotting) process. Blu Apple simply removes a good bit of that gas. One packet lasts 3 months, and it could be a year before the user is able to make a determination about how well it works. So, the product is easy to use and easy to dispose of. However, you are not going to be able to judge the efficacy of the product for some time after first using it. That's why I rated it a 4 instead of a 5. The science is solid. It's just a matter of whether the user finds it effective or not compared to not having the ethylene gas remover.
