Overlord

One of the worst Zombie movies I've watched
So this movie isn't what I thought it would be soldiers fighting off zombies and monsters. Matter of fact there really isn't any of the "zombie" stuff until last half hour to forty-five minutes of the movie. So the movie involves the 101st airborne jumping into Normandy except this is a parallel universe cause 101st has black soldiers leading and fighting along white soldiers. So in semi military buffs you'll have to deal with that, I could have over looked it but between the script, acting, and story line it was just too much for me. This seems more like it was written by amateurs which made the story horrible.

Awesome Movie
I was really excited for this movie as soon as I heard it was being made. I wasn't able to watch it in the theater so I waited until it came out on video. The reviews were so-so which was disappointing as I was really excited but I decided to take a chance and buy it anyway.I was not disappointed. This movie is everything I wanted and so much more. It reminded me almost of a movie version of Wolfenstien (the video game). It starts out with a lot of action and gore and then goes into character and plot development, more action, rinse and repeat - it's a typical J.J. Abrams movie in that regard.Yes, the "zombies" are more of a backdrop to the story and while a few do make an appearance it's primarily Americans vs Nazis. It's still awesome, though and a movie I'll watch over and over again.

Trailer great, movie ain’t 👎👎👎
Possible spoilers:Good:- - the first few minutes of the movie— three actors: the sergeant, the lady, the nazi villain— the few minutes of actual zombie-like creatures towards the end of the movieBad:— the mission was suppose to be about destroying a radio tower, but turned into a jumbled mess— the other actors were not good. Why is the lead actor so emotional about everything?— the lead character disobeys an order which places the mission at riskThere is about 10 - 15 minutes of this movie that is good, but the rest is awful.

Overlord is overrated
I feel like I've seen a very different movie than most. The writing was poor, characters paper thin, and the acting was hammy and unconvincing (reminded me of the awful disney star wars movies where they overact and look like they're trying too hard). The comedy was really out of place and unwelcome since this should've been a gripping and intense action/horror flick. Instead it's loaded with dumb humor and typical jump scares. There's cliches and ridiculous absurdities all over this thing, it really was all over the place. The plot itself is absurd but I can let that slide considering what the movie is. The problem is that there's so many things that don't make sense here. And how exactly did a handful of people go up against about 30+ german soldiers. The whole group should be dead five times over. I didn't think I'd say this about this movie cause I really wanted to like it but this was downright cartoonish. Overlord is entertaining trash at best. Ultimately it's completely empty and forgettable. The effects and cinematography were well done but it just isn't a good movie.

AWESOME opening sequence, however, the film fails to deliver on its' outrageous premise
A group of American paratroopers are on a mission to drop behind enemy lines, to permeate a church tower, which houses a radio transmitter. The transmitter is preventing Allied forces from communicating with each other on the eve of D-Day, and the men's sole task is to destroy it. Their plane is shot down along the way, and the surviving members perilously manage to make their way to the small French village where the church tower stands, thanks in part to Chloe, one of the village's residents. Chloe shares the same interest as the soldiers, to see the Nazis fail and hides the men in her house while they formulate a plan. When private Ed Boyce, a gentle soul, who has no business in this war, gets into the tower and stumbles across a secret lab, complete with nefarious experiments being carried out on people, the men quickly realize how truly outnumbered they are, and begin the fight of their lives.Solid performances by Jovan Adepo (Boyce), Wyatt Russell (Ford), Mathilde Ollivier (Chloe) Pilou Asbaek (Wafner), and John Magaro (Tibbet) add to the intensity of the film. However, It's a war movie first and the zombie angle is secondary. People are already offended by the time period and inaccuracies of the film. To be honest, I was hoping for more zombies, I didn't think there were nearly enough, especially given the content and the way the story unfolded. Plenty of action and gore to go around, and those two factors alone will undoubtedly please a lot of moviegoers, it did me. I liked it okay, but I probably won't sit through it again. On second thought, the opening sequence is worth a few more looks.

Doesn't live up to the hype.
I really wanted to like this movie. Great premise reminiscent of the PC game, Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Other than that, the movie was sorely lacking and a huge disappointment. If you've seen the previews, then you've basically already watched the only worthwhile scenes. I can forgive the historical inaccuracies & classic war movie cliches in order to allow for artistic license. However, as a horror/sci-fi movie, Overlord falls flat. I expect something much better from a film associated with J.J.Abrams. If you feel the need to see this film, I would suggest renting it or wait for it to be available via a streaming service like HBO GO.

Where are the zombies/infected?
Was an okay movie. Would have been a great movie if they didn’t wait until the last twenty minutes to bring any real zombie/infected action. Which is what brought the score down, the whole reason I was even interested in the movie was for nazi zombies and this just didn’t deliver...it had so much potential.

Night drop into destiny
Producer JJ Abrams brings us a movie that mixes genres, with World War Two action meeting outright horror. It is not a spoiler to say that this isn't a Cloverfield movie, either. It's June 1944, and the allied invasion of Nazi occupied Europe is on. The airborne troops are about to make their drops. One unit in particular has a vital mission to destroy a Nazi installation. An awful lot is depending on them. The scattered troops, including rookie soldier Boyce and Grizzled combat veteran Ford soon discover there's more to the installation than meets the eye, and horrible experiments that might give the Nazis the edge they need. The fate of the world is in the balance...You won't get complete historical accuracy out of this, but what you do get is a thoroughly involving and watchable bit of escapism. All the cast pitch their performances just right for the material. It earns an eighteen certificate with realistic violent action and some gory moments, from humans and others. The lead characters are well drawn and you can relate to them. And the villains are just as nasty as you would want them to be for this sort of thing. It possibly does do a little more of the war side than the horror side, but even so, fans of the latter genre probably won't be disappointed. Good, strong, and very watchable escapism, this is a very entertaining film indeed. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:Languages: English. French. Italian. It's also English audio captioned.Subtitles: English. Danish. Dutch. Finnish, French. Italian. Norwegian. Swedish. It begins with several trailers, which can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote.Extras; The Horrors of War. Two featurettes combine to form this look at the film. They are called Creation, and Death no more. They can be watched individually or in a row. Both run roughly ten minutes. The first is an overview of the project and the production. The second of some of the monsters of the story and how they were created. Both are a little longer than this kind of thing usually is, and both are pretty good watches.

Call of duty Nazi zombies redux
I LOVE zombie movies, I also LOVE war movies , so imagine my excitement when I discovered this Zombie War movie . Sadly my excitement was short-lived . Within the first five minutes the director decides to re-write history and has black and White Americans in the same Paratroop regiment . The film continues downhill at pace from there . By the time the zombies are introduced , i honestly couldn't care less what happened to any of the characters . This film is a blatant mix of the Dirty Dozen with Call of Duty Nazi Zombies , its just a pity it isn't half as entertaining .

Thinking, talking super strong zombies
Well worth the wait, excellent original story and great film. I watch anything Zombie and its been the best I've seen for a long time.Different genre on the typical zombie flick , super strong thinking talking zombie certainly makes a change from slow stumbling one's. Definitely worth a second film along the lines of being in the present day and the discovery of the original source of the virus being dug up from the church dungeons.

a very enjoyable film to watch
well after a quick review via other online sites.. I came across this film...its based loosely around a computer game & yeah I'm glad its been made however its a pity it seems over so quickly.overall I was disappointed the dead risen to take-over the world via hitlers scientists well it kinda limits the films overall potential.... as we only glimpse a tiny amount of risen soldiers from the grave & then before you know whats what the main german character is infected & proves its powers.. the cinematograph is fantastic to begin with & then peters off to a more normal prospective..Overall its a big film made with limitations aka small cast numbers & limitations with the story line, however its still a good film to enjoy.. theres no real worry for parents violence is well pretty low & none graphical "in a sense" & no nudity/sex scenesits enjoyable & I'd say its different for all to enjoy, we're getting towards Halloween so grab this film & enjoy it with your older children, especially since we're still within the grasps of covid & the restriction

waste of money
A poor script with some poor acting . Surprised an actor like Pilou Asbæk would participate in this. If you are looking for a good nazi/zombie film buy Frankensteins Army. It is a russian film shot on a small budget but it certainly delivers the goods.
