Product Description The Monkey King 3 (2018) Tang Sanzang, a Buddhist monk and his three disciples find themselves in a land completely occupied, and ruled, by women. Unfortunately for the trespassers, these women were raised believing that men are evil and will use romance to trick women into servitude. Nonetheless, Tang and the young queen of this matriarchal nation, start to fall for each other even though her royal preceptor demands their deaths for their transgressions, and their gender. As Tang searches for a way to escape, he discovers that romantic love is the only key to opening the gate. Tang is faced with a choice of staying with the queen to release his company or continuing on his sacred mission. Monkey King 3 was great -- but even b-o-r-i-n-g when compared to ## 1 & 2 in the same series! --Still -- and Seller sent it on fast! GREAT!

A Great Character and a Great Story
I don't have an extensive background in Chinese culture. That said, the storytelling in this film is excellent. It may seem a bit "crowded" with some of the side stories. However, I'm putting that down to differences in how Chinese storytelling happens and how storytelling happens in Western cultures. Frankly, I've become a huge fan of the mythic character of the Monkey King and am practically devouring every film I can get my hands on that has a take on the character. Give this one a shot, and be sure if you don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, that you watch with subtitles, not dubbed translations. The subtitles allow you to hear the rhythm of the language and the emotions conveyed by the actors' voices which are what helps convey the story.

Caught off guard
I really liked the first two movies in this Monkey King series.This one caught me off guard. It's pretty romantic which kind of throws a size-changing, galaxy-leveling staff into the the gear-working set-up by the first two movies. It wasn't that I disliked taking this part of the journey with the team, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting and hope to find the 4th movie of the series more like the first two.I guess the best way to put it is that this is more of Monkey King date-movie in the same way that (the much criticized but very fun) Alakazam the Great is a date-movie.

is a genre of movie I enjoy..I also have 1&2 and enjoy all of them. The subtitles are ok ... very hard to find a foreign movie with subtitles that fully convey whats being said. There are also other versions of the monkey king...I have 4 different movie sets and I love them all. Thanx

So if your into animation and the over the top graphics then this is for you. I enjoy everything Monkey King. I love to hear how the stories are told based on the culture. I would suggest you watch it because it is very entertaining
