Jawbone JamBox Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black Diamond

It's got everything that an aging 'boy' needs to excite his desire for perceived 'cutting-edge' technology, membership into an exclusive club where price acts as the front-of-house bouncer keeping the masses at bay, and a design led gadget that screams out "Look at me, aren't I clever?" And as as been said in these reviews before it is an expensive toy, the cost of which is way beyond the real benefit emanating from it's purchase. But it is a belter, literally producing from it's diminutive casing a veritable wall of sound that 'rocks the joint', and amazes all who witness it's capabilities - added to which us mature boys (in my case very mature) can play around with the bluetooth wireless connectivity attributes.Fun, fun, fun but for how long I've yet to find out, but in the meanwhile I am enjoying it.

I was looking for a highly portable speaker that would link via bluetooth to my blackberry phone for playing music. The speaker is much smaller than I had expected but feels solid and sounds amazing. It is very portable and comes with a smart carrying case. The sound is unbelievable for such a small box, it has good bass and the volume is loud enough to fill a large room, though it is not loud enough for a party. However, on full volume in the kitchen it was uncomfortably loud and I had to turn it down. The acid test was that my teenage kids were hugely impressed by this very cool looking bit of kit. It was easy to pair to the phone and needed just a three hour charge to start with. I have yet to use it for conference calling. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a really portable bluetooth linked speaker.The only problem I had was the first Jambox Amazon sent me had a dud battery that would not charge up. However, one working day after I posted it back, another arrived on my doorstep, so I really can't fault the service.

These speakers are really impressive, especially for the size. Although thy are a bit pricey, they are well worth treating yourself.Pros:Sound quality is excellent over Bluetooth or the 3.5mm headphone cables, the Bluetooth connects incredibly fast.I especially liked the customizable sounds it makes when you turn it on or off and connect and the ability to change the voice of the speakers when it tells you information (battery level, etc. Programming them is all a doddle as when you first connect to a PC it will simply update the software then present you with a number of options on the official jawbone website. Wasn't something i knew about beforehand but it made for a nice surprise.The build quality is very high, the rubberized surfaces on the top and bottom feel high-quality and the metal has no give to it. All in all a very sturdy little thing.The battery is very impressive. I bought this about two weeks before writing this review and have only and to charge it once when I got it out of the box. Overall I've listened to it for about 11 hours so far and it still says 'About half-full' battery. Amazing.Cons:For personal use (kitchen speakers or listening to music in the shower and such)this speaker excels. However, for parties this would be pretty useless as it's not quite loud enough to be heard over a din. Small gatherings would be OK but nothing bigger.In conclusion, great speakers if you want truly portable, durable set of speakers then definitely consider these but don't expect them to be something they're not - party speakers.

I have never bothered to write a product review before but this is such an outstanding little item that I felt that I should.Tiny proportions - ideal for travel and outdoors. Drop it into the luggage or use it on a shelf in the shed.Build quality is great, the sound is excellent and plenty loud enough for sensible use. Easy to pair with iPhone, iPod and Macbook. Battery life is very good and the Jambox reminds you when it needs a charge. I love the audible 'wobble' as it powers down!I received an unexpected phone call during my first use of the Jambox and it was easy and intuitive to take the call using the speaker phone function.Only downside that I have experienced is to remember not to place it too near the edge of a shelf - it produces enough energy to jump off!I hesitated at first because of the price but, in my view, this is a quality item and well worth paying a bit more for. (The full RRP is expensive so shop around - Amazon offered the best price that I found).Amazing piece of kit - I LOVE IT!!

Easy to set up and great reproduction of the audio out from smartphone. Voice reproduction using Jawbone for phone calls is OK but then the ordinary voice out of my Galaxy SIII on speaker is good enough for what I need but the music reproduction is brilliant and good enough to sit with friends and listen to. A little expensive at @ £130 (Dec 2012) but much better than many of the cheaper phone speaker systems I've heard.

It is very easy to use, contruction seems solid, and the sound for the size is pretty good. If you are looking for something for a rave with 100 people this is clearly not the product, but for a barbecue with friends, to see a movie on your iPad, to make a conference call, or to have some music on a family picnic look no further. Very impressed.

I ordered my Jawbone Jambox, after having read rave reviews of it in the Press. I have not been disappointed. It links easily, by bluetooth, to my laptop, phone and Nexus 7 and the sound quality I get is excellent for my needs (though, I must admit I do not claim to be a "HiFi buff"! I would certainly recommend the Jambox.

This little box produces really good sound and is easy to hook up to any bluetooth device. Great to take on holiday for music from a my phone or to bring dramatic sound when watching movies on my iPad. The only slight problem is that it would be nice if the volume went just a bit higher but overall it is a brilliant product.
