Consistent and easy to use
This peak flow meter has no batteries and works on lung power alone. It measures the numbers in increments of ten (ex. 300, 310, 320, etc.). So far it has been sturdy and provided consistent measurements. The round mouthpiece is easier to use than some of the other rectangular shaped ones. I wanted a peak flow meter without batteries and this has scores consistent with my scores taken at the allergist's office. I use it daily and it hasn't had any issues. It seems well made and sturdy.

Cheap, simple, effective home PFT
I am pretty good at telling the status of my asthma, but this meter is better. Make sure to do 3-5x tests at a time, your breath and this meter are not spot on every time. Helps me know when to get on an extra session of the OPEP (get one of those if you have asthma or COPD!), anti-allergy meds, etc. A little too bulky for me to take travelling among all my other stuff, I would love to find a version of this meter collapsed down smaller.

recommended by professionals
This item was among several suggested by my respiratory therapist. It's inexpensive, predictable, and works as advertised.

Interesting concept
My doctor advised me to purchase this, I used it for 30 days to track my breath for my next appointment with him. This device is difficult to use and hard to determine accuracy. When you breathe into the device the readings change depending on if you are sitting or standing and the time between blowing into the device. My doctor did not give me directions only told me it was easy to use and to follow the directions from the package which is what I did.

Respirometer
I am impressed with this respirometerIt has high and low level settings. I placed it at 250 for low and 450 for high. I never reached green level yet. I not only perform general tests but I also test myself after exercise.

Does the job
Nice basic unit. I've had run ins with asthma since childhood. I understand the lung capacity diminishes somewhat over time. This device helps me keep track of what is happening. Simple charting included that is readily duplicated using an excel spreadsheet. I like the foldable built-in handle. It comes pre-set with the average rates per person type as a visible gauge. Of course, we are unique, so your readings are your own to track.

Difficult to Read PFM Numbers for Persons with Vision Problems
I purchased this PFM as a replacement for one that I had at home, since I have to check my PFMs twice a day. I decided that I'm just going to use this one as my travel PFM because the numbers are hard to read since they're really small and squished together (easy for younger eyes but not so easy for older eyes). Seems to be fairly accurate, although readings tend to be a bit on the high side. Has markers for Green, Yellow and Red Zones which is great for asthma newbies.
