Amazing tech support
This DVR replaced a much more expensive one that was installed for me several years ago when the original unit's hard drive crashed. I wanted something I could install myself without being tied to the technicians who currently service my security systems. I was more or less stuck, however, with the original cameras because of their difficult to access locations. And it turned out that I didn't have the passwords for the cameras.Installing the DVR was a piece of cake, plug and play. Just had to connect the power cord, a single ethernet cable from the router that the digital cameras were plugged into, and the HDMI cable to my TV (via an HDMI switch). I used a wireless mouse and plugged the bluetooth dongle into one of the USB ports. And voila: no signals from the cameras. When I emailed tech support, they responded within an hour or two. We subsequently had many exchanges over a week or two troubleshooting the problem. They were extremely patient, even as it became clear that the cameras were the problem. They offered to remotely access the camera software, but neither they, nor I could get in without the password, which wasn't any of the obvious default passwords. The original installer will likely take his password to the grave. They assured me that worst case scenario, I could return the unit for a refund. So I had a tech guy come with an extension ladder to reset the cameras to factory default. He was able to figure out the default password. Resetting eliminated the marriage of the cameras to the original DVR. When I reconnected them to the TIGERSECU DVR, they all worked. In general, the unit is user friendly. A couple of functions are a bit glitchy, but everything critical works. The motion detection doesn't work, but that is a limitation of my cameras, not of the unit.I finished setting up the system last evening. This morning we found some items missing from our screen porch, apparently taken by the same thief who'd hit us a month ago when we discovered that the old hard drive had failed. (We got images of her that time on our Ring doorbell camera. Redundancy is a good thing.) The Playback function worked beautifully. We were able to document the crime from our three cameras and get good images of the thief. The police came and were very happy with the documentation. They showed my how to advance the playback frame by frame and requested downloads of the relevant parts of the recording. I plugged a USB drive into the remaining USB port. The Backup utility in the Playback menu was very intuitive and user friendly. You select the camera and enter the date and start and end times you want to save and wind up with m4v files. The images on these files were both more inclusive (field of view) and higher def than on the original recording. So bottom line, the system did everything I needed it to do. With its 2TB hard drive, I expect that I can get at least a week or two of continuous recording, even without the motion activated function.

Multiple alerts per minute even when there is no movement
Overall seems like a great product with easy setup and interface. I will change my review after solving the alert problem. I have adjusted the sensitivity down to 40 and still get multiple alerts per minute when there is absolutely no movement. I emailed tech yesterday morning and received an automated response stating I would be contacted soon but I haven't heard back. Unfortunately I will be returning this equipment if this can't be resolved. ***Edit 5-17-19. Firmware update seems to have resolved issues. Ill report more in 15 days.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS!
I ordered this product almost a year ago. Amazon connected me with their customer service when I had an issue. They resolved it and were extremely helpful. Almost a year later, I had the power cord die (actually was from my previous device) and I couldn't figure out what was wrong at the time so I called them. They didn't answer, but the lady (Sandee) called me right back the next morning addressing me by name after not having spoken to me in several months. It just gives you the comfort that they have their stuff together when these things happen. Her calling me back (I never left a message) shows they truly desire to HELP! She did not have to do that! Most would rather NOT call back it seems nowadays! She even told me that since I was on the phone she would tell me about a firmware upgrade they had for my device and she sent it to me and it installed with eeze. I was able to resolve my power cord issue and my device still works great! She then sent me a link for a larger Hard Drive that I asked about and was able to order one as this is compatible with up to 16TB I believe (don't quote me on number) so I ordered a 6TB. I specifically told Sandee that there's just not as many customer service standards like what they exhibit around anymore. You will be IN GREAT HANDS with this company! They are a family owned business and deserve all the business they can get!I am very happy with the device.

Shipped without the included 2T hard drive
So disappointed that the unit was shipped without the hard drive. I hooked it up, could view and the app set up went well. I never checked the recording function. Just expected it to work. Neighbor got robbed last night so I told him I would check my recordings. Surprise. There were not any. So I checked the record set up snd all looked in order. Then I checked all memes and found a hard drive icon. Surprise. No hard drives found. What to do next? I’ll look to see if I bought insurance and try to make a claim. If the company is reading reviews, please contact me. To late to make a return.

Great product; but more importantly, terrific support.
Purchased TIGERSECU DVR to replace a dead Lorex system DVR. Installation was easy, though BNC connectors tough to put on. Came with a great instruction manual. Upon booting up the DVR, all the cameras were displayed in black and white. Unhappy at that point, I went to contact the company, but noticed that their support line was Monday - Friday. So, I sent an email, expecting to receive an answer the following Monday. Almost immediately, I received a response telling me the Lorex cameras were not compatible with the TIGERSECU DVR. Wasn't sure what to do at that point, but was offered a good deal on their cameras. Not much later, I received another email asking if I'd like to try an beta update on the firmware -- no guarantees that it would fix the problem. Instructions were provided, a .ZIP file provided and downloaded, and an update performed on the new DVR. With follow-on instructions, the DVR is now displaying color. So, though I'm satisfied with the result, I'm more impressed with the almost immediate support received, expecially when they weren't open and it was late at night. This has to rank as the best customer support I can recall, which is a testimony to this find company, but sorely lacking in most of the techie world. Their products appear well built, fairly priced, and easy to install and operate. That can be said for others. What others can't match is the outstanding and personal support provided by TIGERSECU. Well done, and highly recommended.
