BlueDevil Products 49499 Oil Stop Leak - 8 Ounce

I recently added the Blue Devil Stop oil Leak in my 2015 S550, and I couldn't be more impressed! After noticing some oil leaks, I was skeptical about how effective a product could be. However, after using this additive, the leaks have completely stopped. The application was straightforward, and I appreciated the clear instructions. 2012 Ford Focus SE 230,000 miles, Had a timing cover oil leak, which was pretty bad in December 2019. Each time i parked oil would drip onto my driveway and obviously had to top up constantly. Had a quote from 2 shops to have it repaired and was told timing cover, valve cover and sump pan had to be removed to replace the front end crank oil seal. Cost would be $1300.00. Was about to have it done, but then decided to do some research on oil leak repairs. Came across the Blue Devil product and based on the reviews decided to give it a shot. Purchased the first bottle as a trial and added it last week of December 2019. Drove about 400 miles all at once. and the leak reduced significantly, but not completely. Drove another 2000 miles and further reduction, but there was still a mild leak. About mid Feb 2020, called customer service at Blue Devil to discuss suggestions. Representative was extremely cordial and helpful, immediately recommended a second bottle which BD would supply free of charge as long as i had the original receipt emailed to them. Sure enough 3 days later, a free replacement bottle arrived and was poured in. Drove daily long distance from then on and the leak reduced further. After about another 5000 miles, early March, the leak completely stopped. Driven another 8000 miles since then and still no oil leak. Needless to say, more than pleased with the product and exceptional results. Repair would have cost $1300.00, 1st bottle of blue Devil cost $21.00 and second , free!. Another take away is that it requires run time (miles) to get the product to work at its best. Be patient, it works. 100% satisfied!

Bought this as a $20 gamble to fix a mainseal leak on a 2002 Accord. From what I can tell it had no affect on the leak 2k miles after the leaks appearance. Whatever its a cheap gamble,my 209k mile car is currently getting a rebuild plus the main seal replaced. Dont see why so many 1 star reviews on here. People putting too much fait in a $20 bottle acting lile its going to solve all of lifes problem, get over it.

I have a minor rear seal leak and BlueDevil was recommended by a couple of different mechanics. It worked well for several months and I've used it a couple of times. As you may know, these treatments can only do so much, but if the leak is minor enough, it will work for a while. Replacing the rear seal is a very expensive job, so I have no intention of repairing it on a vehicle with 207K miles.

I ordered this product twice. The first time I used it on a zero turn mower's hydraulic system. I contacted the company and explained that this particular zero turn uses motor oil for the hydraulic system and that one of the wheel motors had started to slowly leak, probably 3 or 4 drops per day. The company got back with me very quickly and suggested that I use their regular motor oil product and not their hydraulic stop leak product. Taking their advice I purchased the motor oil product and followed the instructions on the bottle. It has been about 3 months now and the wheel motor hasn't leaked a drop. Since I had such a positive experience I decided to roll the dice again and attempted to arrest a slow engine oil leak on my Dodge Grand Caravan. Again I followed the instructions on the bottle and the leak stopped....for 3 days. I began to notice thin oil drops on the 4th day and now the vehicle leaks at about the same rate as before I used the product. I have one more vehicle with a slow engine oil leak and i have not yet decided whether to attempt this quick fix on it or not.

We had a valve cover gasket leak on our 2002 Lexus RX300 and tried this product. Followed the instructions to the letter. We had a bad experience with this product. It didn't seal the valve cover gasket leak at all and unfortunately started to cause a lot of smoke to come out the exhaust. The engine light came on the very day we put the product in and it still comes on for a week after. We ran the engine for over 100 miles like the instructions state but after 10 days went by with only more problems, we took it in for service to get the valve cover gasket replaced. I would not recommend this product based on our experience. Even after the gasket replacement repair and another new oil change, the oil light still comes on intermittently. This never happened before using this product. Our Lexus Rx has been a very reliable car for 15 years. It was running fine before using this product and only dropped one drop of oil per day on the garage floor due to the slow valve cover gasket leak. I wish I would have just let it leak a little rather than use this product. This is one of those too good to be true to be believable products in my opinion.

This outstanding product sealed a bad oil seal that leaked a pint of oil a day on a 2005 Element with 161,000 miles. An new and inexperienced tech at a shop left several vacuum connections open and the PCV system was inoperative as a result. The leak continued after correcting the errors, but the leak stopped within minutes of adding this product.

BlueDevil Oil Stop Leak worked exactly as advertised after a leak recently appeared in my valve cover on a 1998 Toyota Sienna with 455,000 km. After changing the oil, filter and adding BlueDevil I drove the car for 3.5 hours. I have used Amsoil 5w30 synthetic oil for many years without any noticeable oil leaks. I will now change my Amsoil more frequently 3 or 4 times a year as opposed to 2 times per year. Also I will only use Amsoil, because Amsoil is a better synthetic than many other synthetic oils. Very pleased with BlueDevil oil stop leak which stopped the leak. This was the first time I used BlueDevil and am very pleased.

Added this to my car that had oil leak and it worked for a few weeks but then started leaking again . Did not fix problem it may have slightly improved but leak is still there . I was septic from start but gave it a try .
