Great replacement fixture for broken lamp.

Did exactly what I needed it to do…

I purchased this socket to put it in a brand new light fixture. When I removed the fixture from the box it was obvious that the one that was installed was incorrect-there were no threads for the light bulb. I had a choice of returning the item for a replacement, going to the nearby box store and finding they don't carry this specialty item or shopping online. I went to Amazon and searched through all of the many and various styles and options. I needed this one because of the screw wire connections and the 3/8 ips metal threaded base to attach it to the fixture. On top of all of that I needed the one that had the external threads to secure the outside part of the light. This is exactly what I needed and was delighted. I ordered it on a Monday, it was in the mailbox on Wednesday. Perfect.

It's exactly what in needed but it's got a design flaw. Attaching the wires to it was certainly a challenge. I tried every which way and then I finally straighten out the wires and shoved them under the screw which I had loosed up as far as I could. Then I used a very small flat head screw driver to bend the wire under the screw. Finally I got them on really tight. I spent 1/2 hour fooling around with it. Ounce I got the wires on the rest was easy and it did the job, my Antique floor lamp which is 80 years old finally works again.

Good value and built well. This socket was a replacement in a bathroom wall light fixture. I had a few hiccups installing but figured out what to do and it worked perfectly. In fact this socket was a better quality than the original sockets in the fixture.

This piece was to replace an old socket in a floor lamp in which the ceramic had degraded over time due to salt air in an ocean location. Change out was easy and it is a perfect replica of the one originally on the lamp.

Perfect to repair an old light fixture I have and thought I had to part with.Very well made.
