20 Lady Ferns Plants Bare Root - Athyriun Filix Femina

Out of 20 plants so far only 4 have sprouted and one of those died in a couple of days. I've never had such bad results with bare root dormant plants before.

Wonderful ferns from Tennessee. You get a bag of about 10 'bulbs' (almost looks like someone just found dirty chunks of whatnot in the ground) but mix some normal potting soil with sand 1:1 and bury them in some type of shallow large container (I used a Rubbermaid storage container), wet it and keep them in shade. In no time you'll end up with 30 or more ferns. At that point pull each one out bulb-first, when the ferns are around 8" and re-bury in a shaded or semi-shaded area--- these beauties will grow 2'-3' long and high, making for great ornamentation on shade side of house, garden, etc. Perfect for that "Sherwood Forest" kind of look, with canopies of ferns.

Do not buy. Total failure came with no instructions but they were wet wrapped in newspaper. I immediately planted them in my raised bed and kept them moist but none survived. Do not buy.

Came with one or two extras, got into the ground promptly. Waiting for the weather to warm up and see how they do!

Good for the value. I didn't get 100% growth, but I needed a lot of ferns and this did the trick for their first season. In a few more years, I imagine my garden will be popping with ferns.

Most of these have sprouted. CUrrently have them in pots and will put in the ground next spring when they're big enough for me not to miss seeing.
