Franklin Sports Badminton - Starter

Easy to put up, it's a little flimsy but for the price it was a great deal

This set came with everything one needs for backyard badminton. Though not "pro" quality, it is nonetheless *good* quality. I wish that the shuttlecocks were protectively packaged since the plastic feathers got warped -- which affected the hangtime and flight path. Though nothing that a hair dryer and water glass can't straighten out. Whether one is serious about the game or simply futzing about with friends, this is a great set to have on hand.

Purchased to replace a several decades old set I had that was showing its age and use I was struck by a couple things. First, the slide in quality (aluminum poles and leather wrapped rackets now replaced by hard plastic that felt cheap and easily broken). Second the apparent lack of care (birdies packaged in such a way that they were misshapen upon arrival and all efforts to restore them failed). So, while the set is functional and a "value" for the cost I certainly do not expect it to last anywhere nearly as long as my previous Franklin set.

I have had this set about a year. We have used it probably 4 times for backyard parties with HS age kids. Most recently my daughter’s entire swim team. The set is easy to setup, includes official measurements and rules. Customer service at Franklin is outstanding. I broke one of the net poles trying to clean mud out of it. Emailed them and received an immediate reply for a replacement part. I made a couple cheap upgrades, i wrapped the plastic handles with racquet grip tape and purchased a nylon storage bag (made for raquets) that’s about the same size as the box the set shipped in. Anyway, if your kids express interest in badminton after PE class or a friends party, this one won’t break your budget. If you are more serious there are higher quality and more durable sets out there.

This item was easy to put together and served its purpose for our summer party, it was cheaply made and immediately fell apart before the summer was over but what more can you expect for 26 bucks! Everyone still had a blast playing with it for our 4th of July party and that's all we wanted it for, the rackets for badmitting still work great so we use them all the time but we had to throw the net out

Very portable badminton set. Easy to move and assemble/disassemble. Perfect size for all ages. Height adjustment is easy. Tension is very sound. Excellent addition to any backyard.

I had bought this set to play with kids in the back yard, it’s a convenient package as it has all the necessary components you would ever want to set up a game in your backyard. However you get what you paid for, while the set looks pretty nice from a distance, things goes downhill quickly as I set it up and see how it really is. The pole has end ground cap which supposed to fit at the bottom of the pole but it does not fit at all as it is the wrong size. The net that I got is missing one of the elastic loop on one side, but they give u some extra which I supposed it’s okay. If u do managed to set up the net it’s actually pretty nice. The set also comes with 4 rackets and they are good for beginner to get into the game. I’ve played with my son for about 2-3 weeks for a few hours each day, and I’ve started to notice that the racket is warping/pending from just regular usage. The handle strip also starts to come loose at this point. The bottom line is it’s a great entry set that won’t bleed your wallet, and it provides hours of family fun. Just don’t expect it to last too long.

It was a great way to get the kids (grown) into playing together, like they used to when they were home (young). Well worth it. it was FUN!
