HP Officejet 6000
To start with I like the HP products. I mainly purchased this printer due to the wifi feature as I did not want to hassle with a wireless print server. It is very obvious the setup procedure was written with a PC in mind, as that went flawlessly and within no more than 3 minutes. The documented setup for a Mac was obviously an afterthought. My main laptop is a Macbook, and this where I spent about an hour to get it to work. The setup procedure skipped one step that caused all the delay in my setup. I did a search on the internet and found the corrected procedure on the HP website. Once that was done I was able to print using my Macbook. The prints generated by this printer are good. I mainly use it for document printing, so most my prints are B&W. I do not print pictures so the resolution is not an issue for me nor I tested the resolution.Bottom line if you are looking for a wireless printer then this is it. The price is right and the print quality is very good.

"OK" with PC (Vista)
I bought this because of the double-sided print feature, and use the USB connection rather than wireless. With my PC (Vista), the printer works fine. HOWEVER, I like it much less than most of the old HP Deskjets I have used over the years with PCs and Macs. It has to go through time consuming and noisy gyrations after each print job (whether double-sided or not) before it can do another (probably because of the double-sided components), and so far I don't think it is particularly economical on ink. (For black ink, use 920XL, the bigger ink cartridge.) At times I have had problems with the low ink message getting "stuck" in front of my document on the screen and keeping me from doing a printing even though I still had some ink (ie, I have had trouble deleting the message). On the plus side, it is inexpensive, it does do double-sided well, the print quality is good, it is easy to cancel a print order that is starting or about to start (unlike my last deskjet), and when printing multiple copies, it prints very quickly. While I bought it out of environmental concerns (double sided printing), "most of the time" I wish I had just bought a new older model HP DeskJet off of Amazon instead, like the DeskJet 5150, even though they only print single-sided copies.HOW TO PROGRAM A PRINTING TO USE DOUBLE SIDED WITH PC:Initially I had trouble figuring out how to get the double sided aspect to work with my PC and had to call tech support. When you bring up your PC print menu, you need to click on "Properties" in the upper-right corner to bring up another menu, at which point you can select "two-sided (duplex) printing" then "OK" to return to the regular print menu in order to proceed.GREAT TECH SUPPORT WITH HP (so far).

Nice inexpensive printer
I found lots of support for HP printers and Linux (Ubuntu) in blogs so I purchased the 6000 for my desktop, Ubuntu based machine. With USB cord connected, the computer found the printer immediately. Then I used the included software to connect 2 laptops, 1 on Win Vista and 1 on Win 7. Connection was quick and works fine. The printer is a bit slow and a little noisy but we just need it occasionally for house stuff so those are not real concerns. Amazon price is very inexpensive for what we got. I certainly would recommend this printer especially for Linux users.

hp officejet 6000 wireless color inkjet printer
This printer was reviewed by some people. What these people said about the printer is what I am experiencing now. Printing words is perfect. However, picture printing is where the problem lies. Very bad and I don't have words to describe it. I am very sorry to say this about the printer. All the purchases I have made through Amazon, this is my first review of a merchandise that does not sound good. All are always excellent reviews. Can I bring it back for an exchange? I actually don't like its picture printing.

Most expensive printer ever made
I bought this printer based on the HP reputation for quality printers. I have always had Epson printers for my home, as I print a lot of photos, and these seem to give the best image quality. My wife wanted a printer she could use for creating school cirrucula, which is entirely black and white text, so she had no need for photos or color, but it is impossible to find black and white inkjets these days. After searching around a bit, I found this printer, and it seemed to be a good value. Setup was easy and it seemed to work flawlessly with her Apple laptop. But after printing 19 pages of black and white text only, the printer stopped working, and required the replacement of two of the three color cartridges. So I purchased the XL versions of these cartridges for $90. She was able to then print somewhere between 90-100 pages of black text only. Nothing in color was ever printed, no photos, clip art, colored text, etc. Again the printer stopped working and required replacement of color cartridges.I find this very sad, since I had great respect for the Hewlett-Packard name, especially in the printer world. My lab in grad school had an HP Laserjet II that was a complete workhorse, and cranked out great quality prints year after year. But alas, things change, and now I know I will never purchase anything with the HP brand on it ever again. We replace the HP with a Brother Laser printer, and have gotten through 3 reams (1500 pages)and working on the fourth, on a thirty dollar cartridge, and it is still going strong.

No too happy
It's noisy! not as small as I expected, the tray for the priter paper just stands there (nothing to secure it in place), the first "test print" is ridiculous (TWO PAGES!!). Other than that it seems all right.I am OK with it, but not too happy!
