Tamiya quality is amazing
Best F-16 in any scale. I wish they would release more versions from the same plastic.

Not for beginners
Super pretty. Very detailed. Might as well be building the real dang jet. You will have to install everything everything. Like lights onto the fuselage and cockpit controls onto the surface that would actually be cockpit controls. It is very accurate and detailed, which I love, but boy I was not expecting all of that. Some of the pieces don't like going together so I had to get creative while the glue dries. But definitely worth it for those who really appreciate the airframe.

Its not a Toy, But an Outstanding Viper
Well Since Tamiya announced they were releasing this kit, we modelers have been champing at the bit.I got this kit in my grubby paint and glue stained paws, only to realize I have a problem...I want more!!!This kit is the Grail we Viper lovers have been looking for.Truthfully it is not just a Block 30 - 32 - 42 and NBut a Block 25, 30, 32, 40, 42, 50, 52 all rolled into one box.Granted you will have to figure out the parts for where they go.. But that is the fun...The Pilot LOOKS GOOD!!! that is not a first for a kitBut a plus when you think you want to detail the cockpit with someone in it.With the panels that you have to fill this means that other variants are in the works.Crisp and clean lines, sharp detailing in the engraving as well as a wonderfully rendered gear bay...Be cautious with this one as the biggest problem is, the seam on the top of the canopy as well as the radome being in two parts...Careful sanding and a dip in Future will take care of the seam line. The radome needs to be joined with sparring amounts of adhesive.Detail Up Parts are available for this kit, they include the various reinforcement plates (Lawn Mower Blades, or scab plates) as well as metal AOA Probes and Pitot Probe. Some Observations...1 Bit pricey -- but worth it2 No Weapons outside the Aim-9's and Aim-120's -- Hey it is an Aggressor / Adversary it don't need them...3 Static Discharge strips on the Radome are all but eliminated when you sand it -- Be Careful, A Little Tamiya Tape and some Putty will give them back...4 Static Dischargers missing from the airframe -- well in 1/48th scale they would be about as thin as the fiber from a toothbrush... Hint Hint Hint.5 There is No Number 5...6 When all else fails... Research your subject... several websites are available to help you find pictures, reference for paint as well as any quirks in the airframes.I hope this helps you with your Future Viper purchaseWG

Excelent kit
By far the best F-16C in 1/48 scale in the market. You can make any C Block 25/30/32/40/42 and 50.Highly detailed and Tamiya quality

Great model kit for the price.
I really was surprised that I received the product in a relatively short period of time, and it was in great condition. I'm looking forward to building this kit with it's great detail.

Best kit ever, perfect fit, well thought out
I've made about 20 models so far this the best kit I've ever seen. Everything fits perfect, the Tamiya folks have this down. The kit cones with pylons and weapons from the other kit so you can add Aim-120s and fuel tanks like I did here (but no decals for them). My only confusion was putting on the air intake . It has to fit very snug or it won't lock in. I bought resin wheels because they are easier to paint accurately. The kit has a yellow tinted canopy which is cool, I used it here. The thin ghost gray line that says "no step" was hard to accurately put on the rear part of the plane so that it is flush on the corner, so I actually painted that. If you have trouble, Tamiya ghost gray is the exact match. You can put the flaperons straight or down, which I did.

Still the best on the market.
After more than 15 years on the market, it's still the best. And the aftermarket available for these kits is endless. I just wish Tamiya would get rid of the seam line in their canopies. It's 2024. We have the technology.
