Good film

If your gonna watch this thinking it's like Nazi zombies from cod, then change that frame of mind. It's more like super humans who have died so kinda like I am Legend zombies but just stronger. Good story though, wished for more horror aspect.

You will find the story seems based on a game play but the class of actors and film photography as turned into a good film.

As a massive horror fan and a WW2 enthusiast it was an ideal combination for me or so I thought it would be. Although attention to detail was great the horror component was sadly lacking. Acting was decent enough but zombie scenes would have been much improved if there were more ot them. Watched many zombie movies over the years from Dawn of the Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Day of the Dead etc but the weapons such as MG34's and flamethrowers would have looked far more impressive against hoardes of Zombies. All in all a good combination but not as good as it could have been.

A surprisingly good horror-war film mix that manages to be good at both. Good action, good characters, a few scares and a little humour too.The sad thing is that the only black American combat unit actually at D-Day were the men of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, who landed at 9am. There were black stevedores, quartermasters and medics, but there were no black paratroopers - in fact I gather that there were no mixed-race combat units in the US Army at all. Interestingly, in the final shot, the camera pulls back to reveal the beaches in the distance - with barrage balloons floating above them - a nod, perhaps, to that one black combat unit which Eisenhower praised for serving on D-Day "with courage and determination"?

Producer JJ Abrams brings us a movie that mixes genres, with World War Two action meeting outright horror.It is not a spoiler to say that this isn't a Cloverfield movie, either.It's June 1944, and the allied invasion of Nazi occupied Europe is on. The airborne troops are about to make their drops. One unit in particular has a vital mission to destroy a Nazi installation. An awful lot is depending on them.The scattered troops, including rookie soldier Boyce and Grizzled combat veteran Ford soon discover there's more to the installation than meets the eye, and horrible experiments that might give the Nazis the edge they need. The fate of the world is in the balance...You won't get complete historical accuracy out of this, but what you do get is a thoroughly involving and watchable bit of escapism. All the cast pitch their performances just right for the material. It earns an eighteen certificate with realistic violent action and some gory moments, from humans and others. The lead characters are well drawn and you can relate to them. And the villains are just as nasty as you would want them to be for this sort of thing.It possibly does do a little more of the war side than the horror side, but even so, fans of the latter genre probably won't be disappointed. Good, strong, and very watchable escapism, this is a very entertaining film indeed.The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:Languages: English. French. Italian. Fell for the 'Produced by J.J. Abrams' hype. This is a slow build by the numbers action/horror. If you want a proper Nazi action horror, go for both Dead Snow movies.
