Uncommon Marriage Bible Study

We did this book for our small group and I thought it was good for starting conversations.

My husband asked me to order this book after hearing about it on a talk show. He says it uses life experiences to reflect spiritual principals. He's now using the book for couples fellowship. I have read a portion of the book and it appears similar to other books by Chapman, Townsend, Cloud, etc. but using their personal experiences to show how they used godly principles to overcome obstacles and retain their marriage.

I am looking forward to reading this after hearing so many great reviews on all of Tony Dungy's books. However, I didn't realize that this is JUST the bible study, the actual book is not included in this order and is separate. I was thinking this is one in the same, but it is not. I am still happy with my purchase and I just checked out the book from the library.

This is an excellent book. I was drawn into the story of the Dungee's relationship immediately. As a minister, myself, I was continuously impressed with their focus on doing things according to the Word of God, and their insistence that they could ive according to God's Word and still achieve major success in today's world.I strongly recommend this book for couples of all ages, especially newlyweds or folk contemplating marriage. I will be using it in my own counseling efforts.

I have always admired Tony Dungy. I was interested in this as a study offering for a Bible Study group I am involved with. We are looking forward to using this study very soon. I have looked through it and made notes for our upcoming study. I do believe it will be a great addition to the courses we have worked on and feel it will benefit each of us in our relationships.

We were five couples reading this book and somehow it touched on everybody's different challenges and offered great bible based teaching to help you accept and overcome while putting you on your way to a healthier and harmonious marriage.

This book was a great read for my husband and I which is huge because my husband is not a reader. It was written in the voice of Tony and Lauren and their different personalities. It restored my faith in marriage and made me recognize the need for communication.

The over all actual book was not deep enough. You get a feel but they don't really let you in. The study was all over the place and the study was not very organized. The life experiences that they share was not relatable to me and didn't give a lot of life application to us. It was just like do what the bible says. I would not recommended this for group Bible study.
