Difficult review to write. The finished product is excellent - real wood & lots of space for different size items.Assembly will be an issue for many.The instructions are minimalist but once you figure out a sequence, it becomes easier.The screws provided are excellent for their purpose but they have a Torx-type head that requires a special tool or allen wrench.The one provided with the kit stripped about half way through assembly. If you don't have your own, it will be a problem.So end use is excellent but assembly will be a problem unless your have some experience & your own tools.

I was so excited to get this shelf that the moment it was delivered, I opened the box. The box it arrived in was undamaged and when I opened the box I thought it was packed well but then I saw it, the first scuff. The plastic the center piece came in was ripped and a tiny scuff. Decided that I could live with it. So I moved on and opened the next section pieces - imperfections galore! I was pumped to put this in our living room and create a little reading area. Now, I am going to have to go through the annoying return process.

I bought two of these. Between the two there were 6 boards that were not pre drilled and 8 missing screws and 1 missing rubber thing. I tried my best with what I had at home. Ended up splitting a few boards and not using the rubber things. I had to use wood glue on the splits and therefore I spray painted them white to hide the blemishes. Some of the boards were beat up and had a yellow color so this hid it too.I’m hoping they are sturdy enough for a classroom library.

Pros:It looks niceCons:- It was not easy to put together- My husband had trouble putting it together which is rare for him being a handyman- I put only a few books on it (2 / shelf) that didn’t weigh much (cause you can tell it was cheaper particle board & wouldn’t hold much weight).- Within an hour it was already tilting.I was so excited to receive this item and was unfortunately disappointed.

Instruction should have wording and not just pictures. It wasn't clear how to assemble this bookcase. After so many grueling times of trials, once it is done it looks good

I like the color and design, but this is made with a weak material. I’m even afraid of touching mine because it looks like is going to fall apart. This is for kids books, not for university books.
