A great primer
This book was a great primer on the major perspectives on cosmology from both a secular and Christain point of view. Faulkner is honest about the shortcomings in both and tries to lay out some groundwork for continued studies in developing a fully Biblical cosmology not tied to "the big bang theory."This work might be hard to follow for someone who doesn't have at least a little knowledge in this realm as it gives brief summaries of major theories and problems. Faulkner does not try to explain away fundamental concepts of science, including relativity and quantum physics, as some have tried to do, but instead welcomes them as valuable allies in understanding a universe made by design.

Intellect and the Bible affirmed
As a student of creation science and a student of the Bible, it is a joy for me to read a book written by a person who is well trained in cosmology and yet trusts God's inerrant word. Well done! I would encourage this book for those who are looking for answers of origins and yet wonder if the theories currently in fashion represent truth.

The author of this book is a young earth creationist
The author is a young earth creationist who argues that the universe was created about 6,000 years ago. He explains that light from distant stars was created in transit on during creation week. His reasoning, since the trees in the Garden of Eden were created, fully developed, with the appearance of age, we could also assume that the Universe was also created fully developed with the appearance of age. So if you are a young earth creationist you will love the book. If not, you will still enjoy the book for its insight into the mental gymnastics creationists go through to rationalize the facts that contradict their worldview.

Amazing book for those who is starting in astronomy
This book is amazing because we could learn about the current science and alot of misconceptions we have about it. The book try to broke the dogmatic and unchangeable perspective that many people have about science and evolution, giving us another possibility: inteligent design.

Very educational
I started in this book then realized that maybe I should've gone to school for a degree in astromony to understand some of the technical terms used in this book. Very interesting though once I started really into it and took time to study what was being said. Thank you!

A great primer on cosmology.
If you want a basic understanding of current theories both secular and Biblical what is known and how, this book will enlighten you. There is also a great appendix section explaining how facts about the universe are actually obtained.

Excellent book supporting God's handywork
Dr. Faulkner gives a wonderful overview of the scientific history of cosmology/cosmogony and the Big Bang theory and the evidence that supports God's work in creation. He writes in a kind and respectful manner demonstrating the abundant evidence for God's hand in creation.

Three Stars
Much of the info is above my understanding. I did still learn, though not to engage apologeticly.

Cosmology clearly explained
This is not a kid's book by any stretch of the imagination. Because the printing is double spaced gives an illusion that it's an easy read. It is very well written and clearly explains what man knows of the cosmos. I'm an advanced amateur astronomer and found parts challenging. When a title of a book contains the word "design" how can anyone not think it will have an angle towards God? But a 1 star reviewer didn't get it and bought the book anyways? There is nothing crazy about believing in creation, but I understand why it gets some people angry. They do not want to be accountable to their creator for their past lives. With the James Webb scope in space, astronomers are learning that what made the Big Bang tick previously, may well be false. At the end of each chapter is a quiz, with answers at the back.I question if those who criticize this book would be able to pass those tests. If you love astronomy, this book will clearly explain what man knows of cosmology. It is NOT a kids book and could NEVER be used for home schooling. One needs a prior elevated education to understand it.I find it's very good.
