Creative Haven Cats Coloring Book Paperback – Coloring Book, 26 July 2019

ARTWORK: This is by far the nicest cat-themed colouring book I've come across. The art work is by Marty Noble, and she's done a fantastic job with this book. There's a good range of cat types in the pictures, and a truly wonderful selection of different settings/backgrounds. Some are closer to a 'realistic' setting (eg: suggesting a room or staircase) while others are more decorative, with elaborate scrolls, patterns, arches etc, framing the cat. All the images have some kind of border, which is a big plus point for me. All in all, a really delightful choice of cat-based pictures.BOOK: Glossy cover, perforated pages which are single-sided. The outlines are black and not too heavy, and the paper is white and the usual Creative Haven type - ie: fairly light-weight and smooth. Best for coloured pencils or pastels, but you might be OK with gel pens or water-based markers if you're careful.Personally I'd prefer to pay extra for heavier paper, but this is the standard for Creative Haven, and it's fine for a book priced under £4. There are 4 coloured page examples (including the front cover) for copy-colouring or inspiration to get you started.If you enjoy colouring and are even slightly fond of cats, I'm pretty sure you would like this book.

Love grown up colouring books

The drawings are adorable and intricate, I am a beginner at colouring but I found this very fun and calming to do. There is a wide variety of cats and the paper is high quality. Definitely recommend for cat lovers, people who love colouring, whether beginner or advanced and people who just want to relax and do something calming.

As ilustrações são muito bonitas, apesar de simples. A maioria dos desenhos não possuem muito detalhes miúdos. No geral a composição é genérica mas funciona. Talvez não seja tão adequado para quem é iniciante na pintura e goste de pintar mais chapado

My mother has been a brilliant painter & sketch artist most of her life.Today she has dementia. And we walk that path together each day now (her husband, herself and I, is that correct grammar?? Got stuck on that one 😊 ).Now we color together.I search for books with cats, flowers, butterflies and happy images.A lot of the coloring books for adults have images with such tiny spaces (to color) and they cover the whole page. Sometimes it's like trying to color tiny zentangle art.This coloring book has wonderful images that have a bit more space (in the objects on the page) to color, varying sizes & areas, and delightful scenes. -- Not scenes or cats with small coloring spaces like mosaics or mandalas. Which may be perfect for others, btw. -- But not a child's coloring book either.It's just right for her and I. I enjoy the coloring, too. And she can see clearly what the image is.She seems truly taken with cats! This is a surprise to me because she's never painted a cat in her life. But, she used to photograph the kitties that lived next door and she would give them 2 teaspoons of pure cream (I know "they" say not to give milk to cats.... But, today I find it such a happy memory. And I think that's why my mom is drawn to coloring cats).A loved one with dementia is an incredibly hard journey to walk with them. When we have pictures like these , in this book, that make her happy to color and create art... well, it brings content moments, hours, to us both , quiet and peaceful hours. I can sit and read in our backyard while she colors away. Sometimes we work on a page together. (I've attached one page we did together and one of her pages today. I've also uploaded a quick watercolor she did before she became sick.)This is a LOVELY coloring book. And I'm grateful I'll have these memories and pages she has colored for my lifetime. I have learned that art is in the heart of an artist not only the brain. I'm so happy she still LOVES working with color and images like these... And the results don't have to be what we might call "perfect". I hope I'm making sense.Thank you CREATIVE HAVEN! WONDERFUL COLORING BOOK.I did not get anything free or paid for this review. I found it on Amazon and bought it for mom and me a two months ago or so.I hope it helps you. You'll love this book!!!😊Btw, I've found in our case that colored pencils are much better than pens. Less ink, less mess.
