It shrinks
I didn’t expect a poly-cotton blend to shrink but when I went to interface a waistband, there was all sorts of bubbling. First I blamed it on the interfacing but then pressed a small piece and got very uneven shrinkage of the fabric itself. Just keep in mind you’ll need to wash and dry it before cutting anything from it. Otherwise, it’s similar to what you’d buy in Joanne’s.

What quilters and crafters should know
First the Burgundy: This fabric measures 59" wide and an inconsistent yard. It is true in color. One end was torn to cut, the other cut at a careless angle. The hand of this fabric is thin and a little crisp. You are getting what you pay for but it is also a fairly tight weave. It's not like a a lawn, the feel and weight closer to a modern batik (not the batiks of a decade ago). As many know cheap broadcloth is frequently more akin to a lawn cloth, which has a more open weave and batiks a decade ago were heavier. Its thread is fine, the salvage thin and tight, about a 1/4". It frays a little easy when you stroke the cut edge. Who ever cut and folded it didn't do it with care. I ordered 2 cuts of fabric they were stacked from a roll (probably not bolt cloth), then folded so sloppy that the edge of the fabric became part of the fold in the shipping bag and the edge of one of the pieces was cut when the bag was opened. Yes you can see light through it, but not much. This should work well for my intentions, I was planning using it for bag linings. Although I am temped to prewash as I am concerned about color bleed and shrink. If my swatch test bleeds I will amend this review.2nd the Jade: The quality of this fabric was a little different. This makes me wonder about inconsistencies with the next bolt of any color. The jade fabric is slightly heavier and the salvage an open weave and is 59" wide. It's length a yard plus a couple inches. It shows the fold lines of coming off a bolt. Its color true enough to the picture but maybe a little better. It is a nice shade of green, I might have named it "evergreen".Any of the negatives of the Burgundy are reprieved by the Jade but they are both still industrial fabrics, not couturier. My one concern even over color bleed is needle size. I'm not sure that this fabric can handle the larger needles used in bag making, which happens when you layer fabrics. All in all I will probably be buying more of this fabric, just careful about where I use it and if I amend it'll be within a day or two.

I will see what I can do.
Going for a Rambo style headband and I thought yellow would look cool. I think he made his from a dress or something.

Does fade some
Beautiful deep purple color. I wanted a fade resistant cloth to swag on my cross for Easter. It’s been outside for 2 weeks but the color has faded. I would say it has lightened by one shade. I will use it next year and just turn over. Quality is great. Very strong material.
