Not perfect, but not bad
In the Q&A segment of this item's page, they say the cows are fed grass and legumes. There are a couple of warnings I'd like to mention to those who are seeking superior bovine products (especially when it comes to the more volatile and dainty ones like protein powders and colostrum). If you don't give a hoot about cows eating their natural diet before you eat their products, then this might not be a big deal for you. But, as a health nut, I have some further questioning and pontificating to do regarding these cows and their diets.First red flag: nowhere on this product does it say "from grass-fed cows". Maybe they can't legally call it "grass-fed" if they add anything to their feed aside from grass (like legumes), but they do not even so much as mention anything about the cow's diet on the container itself.Second red flag: "legumes" is likely code word for soybeans. "It makes the colostrum more rich," said their rep. Well, technically, if it were such, then yes. And adding corn or soy to cow's diet makes them fatter as well, but at a price to the overall healthiness of the cows themselves, as well as to the quality and healthiness of the finished product. "Legumes" in general aren't exactly ideal for cows, and cows that consume anything that qualifies as a grain, seed, bean, kernel or pod on a regular basis are more prone to develop hormonal issues and sickness. Probably because from a dietary standpoint, these kinds of things are nothing more than fillers that harbor anti-nutrients. They are, at best, minimally nutritious IF they are sprouted. That said, much of what cows are given to eat is just un-living "seed feed" since it's more cost-effective. But cows are naturally engineered to eat grass and other living plants. Legumes are by no means a "living" plant (until they've been sprouted) and are not exactly something that a free cow would be seeking out in a day of foraging as opposed to grass, shrubs, and herbs.I'm not sure about what kind of legumes they are using, or what the ratio of legumes to grass is, or if they are feeding the cows living grass or just hay that's been stored away in some silo somewhere, but if it is soy, then I'm thoroughly disappointed with their product. When an official rep tells me otherwise in the Q&A (as they have yet to answer my posted question "does legumes = soybeans?"), I'll change my review to reflect the nature of their response. Sorry if I seem to be holding the makers of this product at gunpoint for a straight answer, but Amazon just told me the following in an email regarding my question about the feed:"At this point your question is unlikely to receive an answer."

WARNING! Diagnosed with IBS-C / SIBO / Malabsorption? !!!AVOID!!!
THE LISTING SHOULD CLEARLY STATE THIS IS NOT WATER SOLUBLE. ONLY TAKE THIS IF YOU ARE ALREADY HEALTHY!This product is not water soluble and is fatty / oily. IBS-C / SIBO users with malabsorption wishing to repair intestinal permeability should consider a different product that is water soluble. I have been diagnosed with PDV-IBS-C / SIBO / Malabsoption and have suffered slow transit motility constipation for the last 9 months. With a Paleo modified low FODMAP diet I have improved significantly and have been able to manage my constipation successfully and consistently with Milk of Magnesia and Linzess. Right after taking two level teaspoons of this product in a 12 oz smoothie I regularly have, also taken with digestive enzymes, I felt bloated and that feeling did not go away for nearly 24 hours. 2 days, 2 Linzess and 1 dose of Milk of Magnesia later and I was only able to get a partial out. I felt intestinal bloating and some pain in my small intestine. After another dose of Milk of Magnesia o the 3rd day, I finally passed what appeared to be what's left of the powder... clumpy and yellow particulate that could only have been this product. No other changes to my regular eating habits other than adding some of this. For what it's worth, my shipment wasn't that deep yellow color pictured, it's very lightly tinted, an yellow off-white color. Perhaps the product has changed or they've added milk powder, I dunno. I've also tried putting a little bit under my tongue to dissolve on an empty stomach and I'm got that same bloated feel rather quickly, I'm having some sort of reaction and I'm ok with a little bit of lactose, so I'm not sure if it could be that or something else. I can't drink straight whole milk, but I can have low-fat commercial yogurt. Webmd even states that it is likely safe without adverse reactions. I'll tell you with malabsorption and methanogenic SIBO, I did get quite a bit of gas bloating from it.I hadn't experienced constipation that bad since I had figured out that I unknowingly developed specific food intolerances due to SIBO, which I have been starting to overcome in the last few weeks. Now I'm too afraid of even trying the water soluble variant offered by other sellers for more money as I don't want to risk wasting more money. So yeah, if you have constipation due to IBS-C or methanogenic SIBO, I'd highly recommend that you avoid this product completely and try a product that is water soluble instead. You may really regret it if you don'tEDIT: 12 hours after relieving the constipation this caused for about 3 days, my SIBO IBS-C has flared up severely and previous food intolerances that I worked for so hard for over a month to overcome are now back as well as advanced symptoms getting worse again. I was just able to start eating a little bit of bread and oatmeal. Back to a no carb, no sugar, no starch starve diet where I lost 22lbs in over a month's time trying to get back to eating some normal foods. What a NIGHTMARE a simple disclaimer could have avoided. Another round of antibiotics will probably be necessary... brutal Herxheimer reaction to follow. This realy, realy sucks. :(

Gave me back my life
This product has changed my life. And I mean that literally. For 12 years I've suffered with health issues. I had almost no immune system and ended up diagnosed with 13 autoimmune diseases. When deciding to quit the doctors, I did research and started taking colostrum. After 25 years of being disabled, 12 years of open wounds and illness, I am going back to work. I am now a VERY firm believer that all disease starts in the gut. I have taken 3 tbs a day in a smoothie made of things with anti inflammatory effects and one year later, I have not gotten ill. When around someone with a sickness, for the first time in many years, I don't get what they have. This brand is the best cost wise and in bulk it allows me to control how I use it.Pineapple juice, kale, colostrum and super greens with a little ice in a nutri ninja does just the trick.I couldn't be happier with a product unless it was colloidal silver which I have taken right along with this.It has been a complete game changer.
