The first true “non-contact” thermometer on the market. The Thermofocus non-contact thermometer allows temperatures to be taken without touching the patient’s skin, simply by moving the thermometer close to the forehead at the distance indicated by the thermometer (approximately 1”). When the temperature button is held, two aiming lights will appear from the head of the thermometer. When the aiming lights merge to form a single point of light on the patient’s forehead, the temperature button should be released and the patient’s temperature will be taken. The non-invasive operation makes it an ideal thermometer for infants, children, special-needs patients, and adults. Each thermometer includes 4 “AAA” batteries, instructional CD-ROM, and instruction sheet. Can also be used to take the surface temperature of objects such as a baby’s bottle or bath water (when button is used). Convenient one-handed operation. Memory function recalls last temp. taken. Operates on 4 “AAA” batteries (included)— approximately 10,000 readings per battery set. 2-year manufacturer warranty. For quick calibration, take a temperature reading of a hard surface (table, wall, etc.). This calibrates the thermometer, adjusting the unit to the current room temperature—ensures accuracy!

We bought this for our student's that do not like the under the tongue method
We bought this for our student's that do not like the under the tongue method. It's a great idea and when it works, fantastic. Problem is that it doesn't work even half of the time so we are constantly using both this and our WelchAllyn SureTemp Plus to compare readings. And we usually end up with having to ignore the Thermafocus altogether. Attempts to calibrate it failed. We are keeping it only with the hope that it would work the day one of our sensitive kids comes in.

We had the same thermometer 5+ years ago (can't remember when purchased) and it was amazing. Lasted a long time and read accurat
Accurate room temp. Questionable temps on people. Some days it is accurate. Other days, it is 1-2 degrees off base. Frustrating when trying to care for and assess a sick child!!

this also works better when they are sleeping
this is far easier than trying to drag a forehead thermometer across an angry and squirming childs' head. this also works better when they are sleeping, and the light is safe according to the manual (no harm looking into the light)

no instructions
It comes with no instructions!!!! I have written an email and haven't gotten a response. Since where we live we measure in Celsius, having no instructions to change from Fahrenheit makes it useless for use!!!

It is not working any more. Only shows high ...
It is not working any more. Only shows high temperature for anyone.But it's an expensive thermometer. I hope I can return and get a new one.

The best Thermometer!
The best and easier was to check the temperature of a baby and the room. I recommened 100%.
