Does the tape come with both the griping and the fluffy parts?

No, one side of the tape is grippng the other side is fluffy such that you can use a length of this tape to wrap around your coiled up laptop power cord or an unruly bunch of cables at your desk.  Other velcro tapes have adhesive on one side of the tape and fluffy or gripping on the other side, this is not that kind.  This is the reason for the phrase "self gripping".

Is the hard side (hook) prickly hard or is it low profile soft?

The hook side on this product is a low profile molded hook. It is smoother to the touch than the regular hook 88 you would find on standard VELCRO tape however it is not soft enough for direct skin contact. Also keep in mind the hook and loop are bonded together on one piece so one side has the hook and one side is the loop. There are not two separate pieces. The product is designed to engage itself and be used to bundle cords and cables.

Is there an uncut roll of this that is as thin as the precut 8 inch? I bought this roll, because I was told it is the same and it is 3 times as thick.
