Modem comes with an old firmware and there is no way to update it. It causes the modem to drop connection with Internet provider frequently, which makes normal web browsing and video streaming impossible.I had to purchase the same modem from the different local vendor.

Worth the price.
Are there better cable modems. Yes. However this one is worth the price paid. No problems with the install or use.

2.31 Firmware
The DCM476 model we received contained the 2.31 firmware and not the newer 2.5 firmware. From what I understand the newer firmware improves channel bonding and fixes other issues. Just FYI to potential buyers.

Technicolor cable modem dcm476 docsis3.0
I take chance to order this modem because Start internet tell me it has to be stac02.50. Amazon ad did not have this information. It turns to be exact model used by Start. It works well right after being set up. I would recommend this product to who want to use it with Start internet provider

does not work with comcast
Despite what the reviews say I bought this modem to replace comcast leased one. Called comcast and they were not able to activate it. They told me to return it. Sad panda

Works Great
Got this Modem to use with my TekSavvy connection. No complaints the modem works perfectly fine. Quick easy connection and great download speeds. It's only been two months thus far so I really can't comment on longevity but so far so good.Cheers,

Perfect for Teksavvy
I hooked it up to Teksavvy's Cable 60 and tested multiple servers, reliably getting 60 Mpbs down and 10 Mbps up.

Works great
I purchased the modem in early January to use with TekSavvy Internet service. I just recently switched to TekSavvy from Rogers on February 5th. The transition was quite simple. I had to provide TekSavvy with the MAC address of this modem in advance and on the day of the switch, I just had to swap the modems.Everything appears to be working great. I am noticing some errors in the modem logs, however, it does not appear to be causing any disconnect issues so that's good.
