Good Book
This is a very practical book for someone who is wanting to start a coaching practice especially if they are moving from a therapy practice. The authors give the reader usable tools that will ease the transition to the coaching practice. Even though it is several years old, the tools are ageless. I recommend the book to anyone who wants to begin coaching.

Great Resource for Aspiring Coaches
As one who has trained to become a therapist, this book helped to solidify my calling to become a professional life coach instead. Prior to reading the book, I knew very little about coaching; however, Williams and Davis do a great job over viewing the history of coaching and its promising future. The book provides very good distinctions and similarities between counseling and coaching along with powerful transition tools to make the switch from counselor to coach somewhat seamless. The book is packed with practical "Try It" exercises that are very useful in sessions and/or fieldwork assignments with clients.

Therapist as Life Coach
This book was everything I needed to begin the process of transitioning my practice. It was highly informative and useful, as well as a really great read! I refer to it regularly and strongly recommend this book to all professionals even if you aren't considering transitioning your practice to life coaching. There are so many useful tools throughout the book! FANTASTIC!

Good intro to coaching
This book explains many aspects of what it means to be a coach. It differentiates between coaching and therapy, and also advocates for why therapists would make good coaches. I found this text very useful in an introductory class on coaching.

Great resource for human services professionals transitioning to coaching
This material is especially formulated for those who are therapists or other helping professionals who are interested in the transition from a therapeutic, pathology-based, managed care world to the positive, strengths-based, empowering world of life coaching. The perspective on what to keep and what to let go of all the therapeutic training is insightful.

Put me to sleep
Wanted to like it...and one reason is - I respect Patrick Williams quite a bit for what he has done for professional development. Just had a hard time engaging with the material, integrating the material and identifying with the material. I think much of this has to do with Pat's professional history as a therapist. No slam to him, just a fact. Still a good reference volume to have at hand and for that - I recommend buying it.
