STILL extremely pleased. Updated 2/17/2020
Update- I LOVE this knife and highly reccomend it...but...the very first thing you should do when you get it if you want to use the pocket clip is use a T6 driver bit, remove the pocket clip screws and threadlock or epoxy them in. Mine backed out a second time and one side stripped out when I retightened it. Some permanent epoxy remedied the situation but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I am not reducing the 5 star rating...IMHO at this price it is still a 5 star knife 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.End of update.Carried this knife for two months before this review and used it regularly. Love it. Does everything I ask of it work related and around the house. Blade stayed sharp, centered and smooth opening. Locks up tight and stays closed in pocket. Scales are tight and show no wear after carry every day. The only con was the pocket clip screws loosened up. (Retightened and they remain tight).Rate an A.

Any time I’ve been looking at any knife on Amazon.com, Eafengrow knives are always popping up as recommended items. So tried to look into them and couldn’t find anything via a Google Search. Other than links back to Amazon. Reviews are pretty much non-existent. So, maybe they are new, or just no one cares about them. But they are all cheap… and I was curious. This knife here caught my eye, the EF227. So I took the plunge. A rather shallow plunge at that. The design is the new popular modern Sheep’s Foot design, or Reversed Tanto, or whatever you want to call it. It looked cool and it’s different than anything else I’ve ever owned. And being under $30 bucks, I thought I’d try it out. I’m glad I did… because this thing is a BEAST, and it seems… Seems… to be well made. Solid. Beefy. And reasonably smooth. It’s certainly no Benchmade or ZT. But if this knife had any other name on it, it would be priced at about triple of this thing’s asking price. What I find most interesting is the Blade Steel is said to be “D2”. Normally we call it “D2 Tool Steel”, but this is just “D2”. D2 is pretty much a Generic Term for a certain formula of steel that has a lot of variation. The hardness can go from anywhere from 55 to 64 depending on the Heat Treatment. Looking closely at the blade, it looks very much the same to another knife I have that is D2 with a Rockwell Hardness of 62. If its heat treated the same as that one, I’ll be pretty happy. The knife came out of the box reasonably sharp, but sharpness is inconsistent. This is something that could easily be fixed with some stonework, so it’s not an issue. I have most knives resharpened out of the box anyway. As it is, it passes the Paper Test and the industry standard Arm Hair Shave Test. The scales are said to be G-10. But they feel too smooth to be actual G-10. Maybe they are G-10, but made with a different resin or something. I don’t know… But consider this knife was as cheap as it was. There’s room for forgiveness. If I had paid 80 bucks or more for this, I’d be concerned. But honestly, it’s not that bad. Yeah, for an under $40 knife, I think this is a lot of Blade for the Buck. How it stands up to use over time… well… That’s yet to be seen.

Great knife for the price!
I bought one,got it,ordered a second one. Both, imo, are very well made, especially considering the price.Sharpness out of the box isn't bad,it will pop hairs.Blade will open amd lock with just finger action but pressure is needed.Slight wrist action and it flies open.Lockup is solid.Detent seems strong.Blade is thick and seems week done, straight grinds on the spine, fairly symmetrical.Edge grinds are straight.I've carried this blade for a few days now,cut some with it,flipped it over and over, all is still smooth and solid. For under $30,this knife is well worth the price imo.Only small complaint is the clip is mounted for tip down carry.

Stout knife for a budget
This is a very cool knife. Unique blade. I was impressed with the solid construction of the knife.Update: the tips of both of my knifes have broken off.

Excellent Budget Knife
I wasn't a huge fan of this knife at first but it's grown on me over the past couple weeks. I've been using it daily for the last month or so and it's held up great so far. When I first got it, it felt bulky in my pocket and the blade felt like it wanted to fall open all the time. After a week or so I got used to the blade opening very easily, something I wasn't used to, the last knife I used, a Kershaw had a bit or resistance to it. Overall an excellent purchase for $20. I'm not entirely convinced it is in fact D2 steel but it does hold an edge well.

Beefy Workhorse
This is the 2nd Eafengrow I bought. Awesome work knife. Beefy D2 (Seems likely?) blade came sharp and stays sharp. It goes through cardboard like butter. Action is great and fast even for a large blade. Build quality is very very solid. My only Cons would be with the pocket clip. It's tip down carry only and overall just sucks for the most part. The knife is so burly I just took it off. The other con would be the Design. It looks great but it's at best, a "Borrowed" Design from an ADV Butcher. That being said, If you're looking for a hard use knife, look no further.
