Really works, easy to use, great value.
I bought this IR blaster so that I could use my iPhone as a universal remote when staying in hotels that have the TVs locked out and those that use "Clean remotes" (those white/teal colored remotes that are easier to keep clean but have few buttons) that lack an input button (for if you want to use the TV to connect to a game console, laptop, phone/tablet, etc.). If you unplug the ethernet cable on the back of those (most common these days) you can unlock features but the Clean remote will not longer work, so you need a universal remote.Rather than buy and carry around one or more remotes (so that you don't have to program a Samsung vs a LG TV for instance), you can get this IR blaster and use your phone instead. This one has a lightning port for iPhone use and the USB-C one is for other Android device use.You do need to download an app that seems pretty safe/legit from the app store, but once you do you can easily search for the device/TV and basically if you use the configuration for any TV of the same brand it should work (e.g. if you select a Samsung TV of any model it will probably work with whatever Samsung TV you try it on), which is good because it's not always possible to find the exact TV model.Only quibble is that I couldn't get the rotate/reverse function to work, which would flip the app orientation so that you can point the IR blaster end at the TV and the remote buttons on the screen will be facing the right way. I couldn't get it to work but even so it's a great, cheap little device that will be very handy when I travel (or at home).

Hardware may be ok, but software stinks
I love the idea. The adapter is unobtrusive, good looking, ... very nice. However, I don't know if it works because the software is terrible. The software User Guide is only 1 page long and useless.Image does rotate to allow you to point adapter at device but it always rotated 180 degrees wrong.Adding devices only allows you to select manufacturer of your device. it then offers a power button that you're supposed to use to test whether the first code powers your device. If it works, you are supposed to press "useful" button. If not, press "useless" button and it will go to another code for you to test. Sony projectors had 25 codes to go through. This was ok and I finally got the right code. With Roku, instead of the power button for testing, it gave me a screen layout display. Nothing worked and there was no way to try other codes. Referring to the software user guide was useless and very hard to find. The manufacturer of this hardware (no doubt in China) should recognize the shortcomings of the software they recommend (I don't think they wrote or provide the software). If that is the software they wish to suggest, they should write their own instructions to supplement intuition. If courting the US market, they should be sure it is written by someone from the US that isn't a geek and knows how to write something that is complete and makes sense. Even if this means adding $5 to the price of the adapter. it would be a bargain (if it works). As it is, at least for me, this is NOT a value. I'm returning it.

Great Remote! Works across several devices!!!!
I was hesitant to buy this because of so many options on the market. But I'm really glad I got this one!Packaging: Minimalistic but well packaged.- It came with a small owners manual with a QR code to download the ZAZa app.- Comes with the IR remote- Includes nice Silicone sleeve (for storage and cannot be used while device is being used)- Includes small key ring for the silicone sleeveProduct: I found out very nice. Made out of aluminium and feels sturdy. The end has a little IR blaster and LED indicator to let you know when it's functioning.APP/compatibility: I found setup quite quick. Downloaded the Zaza app and just plugged it in.Pairing was quite easy with my old Sharp 42inch tv from the mid 2000s. I was apprehensive as the old galaxy s4 (built in IR blaster) that I was using as a remote didn't work very well with the tv. I had to download several apps and try different modes to get it to work with the tv. This APP worked great with the TV. 100% compatibility. Better than other apps I was using on the S4 (which died last week).I then moved downstairs to try on my parents brand new Samsung Q65 TV. Setup worked alright. That T.V. Has audio commands via the remote that obviously weren't compatible with the Zaza app. But that's okay. I wasn't expecting it to.Also tried our media rooms Toshiba TV with Amazon fire built in. That one worked great! Only thing is the back button didn't work. So I'd give it 98% compatibility. Along with the Toshiba TV we have a Bose lifestyle system from the early/mid2000s that also paired up fairly well.App concerns: because of some reviews I read calling out the app for questionable things. I removed permissions from the app. As well as made it so the app cannot run in the background.I have used this on both my galaxy S8 and Google pixel 2. Both work great with it.Highly recommend!!!

Expect very basic functionality
Came with brief instructions and QR code to install from app store. Initial attempt to match codes with my Sony TV took a long time - 38 variations of power button which seems ridiculous given Sony is a common brand at least in the US. Additional few buttons tested/confirmed and it made a lot of assumptions about remaining features. In the end it’s good for basic power, volume, mute but on a smart TV does not present enough of the special buttons for menu navigation. I was expecting this would likely be the case, so it does the minimum for what I wanted which is small form factor and basic functions.
