Best for smaller cats and needs bracing, but great for the price
Great cat tree, especially for the price. As others have noted, the base is small which makes it inherently pretty unstable, and you'll most likely need to brace it somehow. I positioned this next to a short, fairly solid piece of furniture, and used a cargo strap to loop around the furniture and secure it to one of the posts on the cat tree. That's been plenty adequate. You could also use a heavy sandbag across the base, or attach a furniture bracket (like the ones you'd use to prevent bookshelves from tipping over) to the underside of the middle shelf and attach it to the wall. You can find a method that works for you, just be aware without bracing of any kind your cat might find it too wobbly and unstable to use.My cat took awhile to start using this tree, but now she loves it. I've had a hard time getting my cat to scratch appropriate stuff (she's had like six different sorts of scratching posts but always goes for the couch instead), but she LOVES the posts on this and uses them often. She really likes to sit on the top shelf and get a high up view out our patio doors. She is a fairly small cat though, only about 8.5 pounds; if she was really big, I'm not sure she'd find the shelf size on this tree very roomy. My box was missing a piece, the very top platform wasn't there, but I didn't notice until I'd assembled everything else and I did NOT want to take it apart, rebox it, and ship it back to Amazon for replacement. Instead I contacted the company that makes it, Trixie Pets, and asked if they could ship just that individual part to me. They were super responsive and had it on the way to me the next business day.Overall I'm really happy with it, it's been holding up well and it's on about the same level of quality as cat trees I see in my local pet shops for 2-3x the price. I wish the base was bigger, as that's a pretty significant design flaw, but coming up with a way to solve that problem was easier than coming up with a lot more money to buy a different cat tree. :D

Great value
I wanted to get my cats one of these things but I also didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on it. I knew(assumed) going in with this tower that it wasn't going to be the highest quality version of these made since it's the cheapest one of them all this size. That being said it is far better quality then expected plenty heavy duty enough for my small cat and my fat cat. The down side that I have found is since it isn't built as heavily as the more expensive ones it can wobble a bit. Not fall down woblle just a little wobbly as they are jumping on it. If your looking for a great value in one of these things go for this one.

Decent Tree - Too Much Wobble
I landed on this tree for a couple of reasons but mostly because I wanted one that was on the taller side. My cat enjoys being up high and seeing as this is a pretty good size, I decided to go with it. The components and the actual quality of the material is good. The scratching post rope is attached well, the platforms are fairly sturdy and even the carpet has been holding up fine. The downside is that that there isn't enough weight in the base to keep the entire unit from wobbling. My cat is still growing and only weighs about 5lbs. However, when she runs and jumps onto the tree (which she often does) it teeters back and forth a bit. At this point there isn't any real danger of it tipping over, but it moves more than I'm comfortable with. Given that she will continue to get bigger I can only see this getting worse. She loves climbing the posts and tends to use them as her primary scratching destination (instead of the couch). The little attached ball is a good little add on which she will sometimes bat around. I'm going to add some additional weight to the base to solve the stability problem with material I already have but it might be worth looking into a different tree if you have concerns about it falling over or not being sturdy enough for your cats. Despite the wobble, I'm still happy with it overall.

Returned
It really only took a few minuets to assemble, very easy. It's a nice size and fits in the corner. I did screw it to the floor because it is not stable and now I have to figure a way to secure it to the wall. If you have a cat that likes to jump on and off you don't want them to knock this over. Worth the money and will be great when I am done securing it well.EDIT: Well, I gave up. I put bricks on the base, screwed it to the floor and the cat got on it once and then that was it. It wobbles and just not safe and the cat is smart enough to not trust it. Too bad because it's good looking and just the right size.

GREAT buy!
I got this for my two kittens. They're 6 months old. One is 5lbs, the other is 7lbs. My neighbors can't believe the deal I got. This would probably go for $150+ at PetsMart or PetCo.Assembly was easy. The instructions weren't in English, but you won't need them. I put it together in 10 minutes just by looking at the picture. Everything screws together, no tools required.Con - The kittens tore off the hanging ball before I even finished putting the tree together. They LOVE elastic. I just stapled another toy to the tree to replace the ball, and they love that just as much.Other reviews said it wasn't sturdy. I would say, it's not the sturdiest. It can wobble if you try to make it wobble. I've had it in the corner of the room and the kittens haven't even come close to knocking it over.

Great cat tree!!
I purchased this cat tree to replace the exact same one we bought a few years ago. Tatiana loves this tree!!! She sits on the top with her long legs hanging off and looks so funny. The scratching posts are sturdy and all of our cats use them daily as they stroll into our bedroom. It is sturdy but if bigger cats get excited and play on it, they can topple it over. But it is a great cat tree.

Excellent cat tree
I was shopping around for replacement posts as I bought this cat tree 15+ years ago and found this for £33, so much cheaper than buying replacement posts of various sizes. Now I have spare everything. It's easy to assemble, and customise for my geriatric cat who still likes to climb and scratch but his arthritis is slowing him down. I feel very smug about my genius idea to get a replacement tree instead of replacement posts. And the cat likes it too. He doesn't care how I got it, he doesn't care about a lot of things I tell him.
