I cannot even imagine the "assumptions" a manufacturer has to make to design such a "general" product.The DogHat does not actually "fit" like a hat, but rather is placed to the back-top of the head.There is actually no "head-room" in the DogHat so it sits flatly on top of the head and the chinstrap folds it down around the sides of the head and secures it under the chin.The first problem is with the chinstrap-catch, it is not strong enough to tightly-secure the chinstrap under the chin & hold the DogHat onto the dog. So it loosens instantly and the hat falls-off to-the-side.I ordered an XL-size, which was not even "listed" on the enclosed Product Description(?)...it simply sat on the top-back of my Bully's head with the Hat-bill pointing up towards the sky.It sat on the top-top of my Pittie's head with the Hat-bill covering her eyes, unless flipped-up (position won't hold).The DogHat is "well-made" as far as "material & stitching" & it has no "elasticity" (stretch) to it or it's chinstrap.It should also be noted that not all dogs "tolerate" wearing clothing articles, especially if they cannot be securely worn/attached.As an option, perhaps research (human) children/infant Hats which may offer more styles & sizes, requiring only ear-holes to be added, if required!Good luck shopping & keep it waggin'!

Since theres a lot of conversation on the sizing, I ordered the XL for our standard poodle, who is about 8 months old and 35 pounds in these pictures, and it fits him perfectly.- Material and build of the hat is great- Normally he’s fidgety if he has to wear something, but after a minute he didn't mind wearing this at all.- It does a really good job of shading his eyes.- The hat sits pretty flat on his head, but it has just enough shape to look like a baseball hat.

I bought large according to size chart, does not fit the pitbull but fits the dachshund. I needed it because her white eye got sunburned but opted for doggles instead. I guess the dachshund gets a hat just because I don't want to deal with returning it. It's cute on him though.

Super cute hat but it has an odd shape. Sad to say it didn’t fit my Shichon or Cavachon. I tried a medium and large since the previous reviews said the hat ran small. Personally I felt the hat is oddly shaped so it doesn’t fit on their heads properly. I returned the hats

Great for sun protection. Not really thick enough for warmth, but it’s Summer, so that isn’t really relevant. Bought this in size large for my 3 month old blind puppy with the intent of it being large enough to have room to pad the inside to help keep his head protected as he explores the house. Does it’s job and gets extra points for cuteness!

I really like this hat for my Great Dane puppy. She has light blue eyes and I worry about cataracts starting. She is indoors most of the time but enjoys her morning and evening walks in the neighborhood. Our hot Charleston summers are super-sunshiny and this hat protects her big blue eyes!

Got this for our corgi puppy. He wasn't a fan of it at first, but with some conditioning and lots of treats, he eventually adjusted. The straps helped keep it on him when he fussed.

Bought the largest they had, did not fit my Great Pyrenees. Still adorable and I still stick it on him for the gram but if you have a large dog with floppy ears this probably won't work for them.
