A Worthwhile Purchase
I bought these to go over my standard rolling pin (like with handles). I wanted them mostly for the 1/4 inch set. The package cam exactly as pictured, and the rings were the same color as pictured as well. The rings were a little hard to get on at first, it required some maneuvering to slide them to a suitable position on the pin. I think at first I had them a little too far down on the pin, as they kept putting marks into my sugar cookie dough. I widened them almost to the edge and it solved that. The reason I detracted one star, however, is that these rings are made out of rubber and thus have a little "give" to them. When applying any pressure, They do flatten out a very small amount, which means my cookies do not have a true 1/4 inch measurement. Overall, I would say that these are still worth it. It takes a lot of the guesswork out, no more accidentally rolling the edges too thin. My cookies have never baked more evenly!

Not for pins larger than 2" or 3", fit varies
I bought these for my annual Christmas cookie baking. I have a 2 inch and a 3 inch rolling pins. The rings fit my 2 inch pin [snugly] much much much better than 3 inch pin [which almost seem too tight, and very difficult to get on]. On my 2 inch pin I can use the 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" rings pretty easily; the 3/8" is too big for my 2 inch pin [as it slides on and leaves a gap], but does fit my 3 inch pin snugly. Additionally, you can get 5/8" on a 2 inch pin by combining the 1/4" green ring with the 3/8" white ring, both of which fit a 2 inch ring snugly; this is the only way I can use the whit ring on my 2 inch pin. Luckily I own more than one pin to get the job done. How do they roll? I'm not sure yet, because I haven't started my cookie baking yet. I'll update the review once I've completed my cookie baking. The issue on cracking: yes I already have two hairline cracks in one of the green 1/4" rings just from trying to fit it onto my 3 inch pin, hence why I wouldn't recommend using anything other than the 3/8" on a 3 inch pin.

Low Tech - Hi Proformance
I have always admired the mind that can imagine the simplest device with the most amazing functionality and this little product is certainly admirmable! This humble little system of color-coded, ordinary rubber bands has taken the frustrating guesswork out of such often-used recipe directions that require one to roll out dough: cookie, pie, pasta, to a certain fraction of an inch depth, in a way that eye-balling - even with the assistance of a ruler - it could never achieve! Moving beyond mere visual aesthetics of near-perfect presentation, it is absolutley amazing the difference uniform dough can make in terms of even cooking and taste. The first recipe I used these little rings for was ordinary sugar cookies which came out of the oven in masses of rich, golden disks of delight. Not only were they eye-pleasing, but because of their almost exact depth, each one was soft and melted deliciously on the tongue. Don't hesitate to add these clever little rings to your collection of useful kitchen gadgets as they are likely to become one of your most essential baking tools!

Rings adequate to the job- but beware!
These rings fit on a 1" rolling pin and as well stretch to fit a 3" rolling pin (the ad claims up to 4"- but that would be stretching it a bit.) The stretchiness means that the bigger in diameter your rolling pin- the thinner the dough for a given set of rings. These rings only produce accurate thickness results as stated in the ad if used on on a 1" diameter rolling pin.The dimensions stated in the ad are Set of 4 pairs: 1/16" (red), 1/8" (yellow), 1/4" (green), and 3/8" (blue) thicknesses. On anything over a 1" rolling pin, they produce uniform sheets of dough- but not at the thickness indicated on the bag. On my 3" rolling pin the yellow rings gave me a hair under 1/16" -not the 1/8" you might expect from the ad.Luckily all i needed these for was "additional" thickness for my 3" pin which already had a couple of older rings on them (I stacked the rings).I can now turn out a neat 3/32" cracker without too much problem. Also seems a bit pricey for what are essentially large elastic bands- but then I couldn't find what I needed anywhere else!

Makes rolling cookies a breeze!
These rings make rolling cookies a breeze! or rolling any kind of dough including fondant. Now the dough is absolutely uniform with no guessing or effort. I had been placing two identical rulers on either side of the rolling area for the rolling pin to rest on and ensure even dough. Using these rings is less messy and totally superior to that make-do method. I invested in one of the Wilton rolling pins that these seem designed for, and I love it. In addition, this package has more width choices than others I've seen. the price is better than at William-Sonoma.

Rolling Pin Rings. . .
Haven't used rolling pin rings as of yet. Have 3 rollings pins, one marble two wooden. Tried two of the large rings on the one wooden rolling pin which was smaller in diameter & they fit/went on with no trouble. Didn't seem to want to go on the larger diameter rolling pins.Instructions included with the rings state: To slide rings on easily, dab vegetable oil "sparingly" on end of rolling pin.

They do what they say but...
The rings exactly what they say they do.They go on your rolling pin with a little perspiration (a bit of struggle with the thickest one, warm them first under warm running water first) and roll away. What happened next was pure user error. I envisioned a round, smooth 15" pie crust. But what we got was a a lot of track marks in the dough where the rings had rolled over. It didn't dawn on us that there is no way to get a smooth 15" circle when working with a 10" rolling pin! As I said, the error was in our expectations, not the product itself. If you roll out everything in strips of 10" wide (or however wide your rolling pin is) it should do fine for you. But in our case, they're going to end up in a drawer and be added to our list of kitchen disaster stories.

where is the rolling pin size these fit?
Jist received and tried on my two rolling pins and they do not fit either. The tapered wood dowel roll will take a couple of rings it as it ks tapered it will mot ne the thickness the rings are designed for. The thers do not dit either. What is with the inside diameter of the white rings being as large as the out side diamenter for the green rings. If that is the way y are to be used I doubt they will stay together. The one page in the ring package mentions instructions? No brainer just slip them on works if the pin is the right diamiter.

Friendly FYI :)
Just received these rings today along with my purchase of the Norpro 18" Rolling Pin (which is 1'.5" in diameter). Have not had a chance to put them to the test yet but will soon, I only opened them up to check the fit. I noticed that the blue rings (3/8") were quite big in the middle. Turns out that the inside diameter of the blue rings are 1-7/8" not 1'.5" like the rest. The other rings (1/16", 1/8" &1/4") fit perfectly :) I would say that if you are planning to get a rolling pin with these or if you already have a non-standard or dowel type rolling pin, make sure that it's at least 1'.75" in diameter. The smaller rings have a teeny bit of stretch to them so they will stretch over a 1.75'" wide pin (the green one may need a little coaxing but you can kinda "roll" it onto the pin), and I have seen reviews where people have said that they all fit onto a 1.75'" pin so I'm assuming that the blue ring will fit just fine (even though it's an 1/8 of an inch too wide or that could have been a factory oops ^_^). I was able to stretch the blue ring over my 2'.25" wide marble rolling pin, though, so all is not lost :) I can still use the blue rings on my marble rolling pin (though, I haven't quite figured out just exactly what I would be making with dough rolled to that thickness) and I can use the rest with my dowel pin :) They seem to hold up well when I press on them while on the pin. Can't wait to try them out :)

They work amazingly well.
These are great. I'm not a precise person and they give me the thickness I need on my crusts. I had rails you put around your dough on the board to control the roll thickness, but they move and you need to adjust them every time you change directions. These just go on the ends of my pin (about 2 inches diameter) and work like a charm. I'm getting them for my sisters as gifts. Who knew they even existed. Very happy.

Pesimo producto

Not consistant
I bought these rings to fit the Ateco 19" Maple Rolling Pin which has a diameter of 1-3/4". The 1/16th, 1/8th, and 1/4" ring fit the pin, but the 3/8" ring does NOT. This is because the 3 ring sizes that fit the pin have a inner diameter of 1- 1/2 " but stretch to 1-3/4" to get onto the rolling pin. They need to fit snuggly to stay on the pin. The 3/8" ring does NOT fit because it's inner diameter is 2" which is 1/2" too big. Why they would have a set of 4 different size rings that don't fit any ONE rolling pin is beyond me. The package should contain a set of rings that fit the SAME rolling pin. Pretty disappointing, and is quite ridiculous, if you ask me. Luckily, the oddball set of rings with the 2' inner diameter fit my old wooden rolling pin, so it is not a completely useless item. They should really fix this though...
