Strong support for chrome book 11"
I've been using this for 6 months and it holds up well. I attach a hp x211 on to it and it's solid aluminum and steal. It has not ever dropped my chrome book. Book probably weighs 4 pounds. Comes with adjustable fingers to hold different objects.

Most versatile screen mount and rock solid
I tried four different mounts and this one was the best! The CarPlay screen is thicker than most tablets do the extra long prongs made all the difference. Love that I can swap out small, medium, and long prong lengths. Package includes 4 large, 4 small, and 2 medium. Wish you provided 4 medium prongs as well! Had to use two large and two medium. Very happy with the length of the arm and the solid connectors. This is the arm you want.

Great Mount but needs some minor help
I bought this mount for my wife who is a real estate agent. She needed to bring her GPS closer to her as she drove since she's always interacting with it. She drives a Nissan Rogue which has a fairly deep dash and this mount works almost perfectly in her car. The arm is more than long enough to put the GPS exactly where she needs it. It's a solid metal arm with plastic ancillary components that are also plenty durable enough. It's been mounted in her car for a month now in winter temps and the suction cup has held firm without need of re-sucking (is that a real word??).As some reviewers have mentioned, since the arm is so long, it will normally need to rest on the dash or on some sort of mid-arm device in order to keep it from bouncing around as you drive. One answered question here on this Amazon product page suggested using a rubber ball cut in half with a V gouge in the top. That's a really good suggestion. I opted though for using an old stubby Garmin GPS mount I had laying around unused. I simply flattened the top of the mount ball with a bandsaw at roughly the angle the arm would be resting on it and then stuck an adhesive velco pad on the new flat part and the underside of the arm. I added a velco strip that I secured to the arm of the stubby mount that looped over the extension arm for added security as well. The suction cup of the stubby arm adhered it to the dash at the mid-point which gave the entire structure a very solid result. Doesn't twitch at all now even if accidentally bumped by someone in the car.If you are looking to use this mount with a GPS unit, especially a Garmin, you most likely won't be able to use the spring tension jaws that come with it. My wife uses a 7 inch Garmin GPS (2797) and I had hoped that it would be large enough to be gripped by the jaws of this mount. No luck. And, of course, the jaws are connected to the arm using a double slotted tooth mount and the Garmin mount plates are ball-and-socket connectors. The twain shall never meet! But, Arkon makes a double tooth slotted adapter with a standard Garmin ball for Garmin GPSs.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NG3YQW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1If you're in this boat, make sure you order the above item with this arm mount and you'll be happy. All in all, we're really happy with this mount and it should keep my wife's attention more focused on the road instead of leaning forward and squinting at a GPS screen trying to enter her next destination. I wish Arkon included a mid-arm support device since most people will need to grip it down to the dash somehow. But, if you're creative enough, you should be able to come up with some solution that works for your dash.

Arm is bit wobbly if you don't use padding, but otherwise good
The description should mention that the minimum width is 7.5 inches. My device was slightly too small, even though its screen size was within the listed "7 to 18.4" inch range. I ended up rotating the mount to use the legs vertically, which works for now but isn't ideal. Arkon needs to remember that today's thinner bezels mean smaller bodies. But aside from that, it's mostly good. Seems well built and it has great options. The holders/legs are fully adjustable and come in 3 different sizes.---- Some downsides ----- The arm wobbles up & down a bit, even when resting on the dash like it's supposed to, I had to put some padding under it (folded magazine paper or thick foam).- The ball socket doesn't truly lock, it just adds more friction. This may be by design.- The ball socket only swivels about 30 degrees.- I'm not sure if it's the ball socket or the mount itself, but it rotates rotates along the Z axis (i.e. like a knob or clock). Which is good, but it also has quite a bit of play, so bumps sometimes cause unintended rotation. Not a big issue if you over-rotate it slightly to account for the bumps, but still annoying. One oddity is that the packaging included some extra screws and a plate that aren't mentioned anywhere, but I think might be for screwing directly into a device case instead of using use the regular mount.

Good and sturdy
I looked at many reviews for similar products on youtube before purchasing this item. It does the job well and holds devices securely. Given the size it does need to rest somewhere on the dash to prevent too much vibration, but this is to be expected.Reasons for not giving 5 stars are that it arrived loosely packaged, amazon had boxed it, but the unit itself was only wrapped in a small amount of bubble wrap in a plastic bag, as a result the foam texture on the vertical part of the holder was slightly damaged. It also didn't have any documentation, this can be easily found on line, but even a piece of paper with a URL would have been useful especially at the price. It's not difficult to figure out, hence only losing 1 star.I would recommend putting something rubber under wherever the unit rests on the dash though as the hard plastic and vibration will leave a mark. Again, something which should have been included at the price it is.

Nice to have for OBD display
I use this to display OBDII dashboard on my iPad 3 and it works out great. The central positioning means the setup can replace even the cars stock ICE.
