You can tuck the string band in to your hat and just not use it, but then it's hard to keep the hat on unless you get a hat pin, and hat pins really only work with an updo, and my hair is short. Besides the weird string, I really like the hat. I think it's adorable, although my mother told me I looked like a communist.

Beautiful hat. Very good material. The red color is a very nice, bright red. Arrived in excellent condition and on time. The hat has a string to help it stay in place (I find that if you only rely on the tiny string, the hat will move slightly back when you move your head). I have received several compliments from others.

I have a large sized head and this hat fits ok (the label inside says it’s 56cm). The purple is nice and dark and the hat seems to be of high quality. I like this hat because it’s fancy without being too noticeable; it’s not as tall as other pillbox hats and the hat base is a perfect circle that won’t force you to wear the hat off to one side of your head if you don’t want to.However, the hat arrived dented. It was mailed in a poly mailer envelope with no stuffing. I’ve initiated an exchange so I hope the next one arrives without any dents.

This hat is beautiful! It came packaged in a bag full of air. No damage or accidental creases. It’s gorgeous and I feel oh so pretty wearing it!

A bit warm but besides that it was really well made. Worth the money.
