Bought 2 of these for my boys and I knew from previous reviews that we'd have to place them up against the wall to support the backboard. Well neither backboard will stay up! You have to move the hamper just the right distance away from the wall to balance the backboard so it stays up. Then your kid goes to actually use it... clothes hit the backboard and drop into the hamper and the backboard immediately falls shut over the hamper forcing the child to walk across the room and carefully re-balance the backboard, just to do it all over again the next time clothes are thrown in. The backboard effectively acts like a trash can lid . Not what I wanted at all. Also these hampers are NOT sturdy enough to carry clothes in them to the laundry room. Bottom line...I would not purchase again.

It is cute and now my boys are keeping their clothes off of the floor with nearly zero nagging.

I like this hamper, it was inexpensive and for the price, relatively well built. The material feels more durable than other popup hampers I have bought in the past. I like that it has a loop on each side, sort of like a handle, so I can grab it easily to take to do laundry. I don't mind that the top doesn't stay up as others have noted, it acts as sort of a lid. If my son wants to shoot baskets he can open it up, the lid leans against the wall and he can shoot. All in all, for ten bucks, I'm happy. I expect this will last a few years, and I'll get my money's worth.

Cute, but can’t pretend to play basketball which is the purpose of this because the hoop doesn’t stay up. Kind of pointless.

I bought 2 of these for my 4 and 9 year old boys. My hope was that the product would help encourage good behavior by making room clean-up more fun. It works great as a hamper. However, just as other reviewers have noted, the "backboard" will only stay up if leaning against a wall. It's not a deal breaker, but requires good placement to get it to work. It seems sturdy so far and the price point is ok. perhaps a plastic tubing to act as a spine and hold up the back board would have been nice.

We ordered two of these. My sons find it fun to "dunk" their clothes. My only complaint is that the handles on both have ripped off. I would say they are more decorative or for carrying the empty basket.

It’s perfect. The handles are sturdy to carry a full load. It’s actually bigger than I expected.
