Honest to goodness Advanced Secrets indeed
I had no idea how much I needed this book until I bought it and read it twice. Though some of the stuff discussed by Dusty were actual stuff I was already doing when I was doing my cartomancy, the other potential uses for Tarot were quite indispensable. Not sure how many books out there discuss those things but this one sure does. I appreciate the manifesting and problem solving aspects shared in the book, like for once instead of looking at the Tarot deck mostly for woo-woo stuff, you can actually just solve some problems in there (just pluck cards and make a story lol) and if you want to add some of the woo-woo after you figured out how to deal with that annoying co-worker in the best, possible way, just get some guidance from the cards. I just started doing the exercises and games but these things actually helped me get off the boredom train and simply enjoy each day with my deck. As a person who appreciates both in-the-box and out-of-the-box learning, this book is a great sequel to the white book. I even use the steps in here whenever I get called to do some spreads with my playing card divination deck, and you know something is totally legit when you can use it in your other methods and equipment. I really appreciate that.A word of caution though: I sincerely recommend getting really, really acquainted with your deck before doing the stuff in here. Also, Dusty wasn't joking when he said that this book is not for the beginners. Seriously, a strong foundation and trust is needed with your deck before you do the stuff here. Otherwise, things just won't fall into place and it can be a waste of time and energy. Even I had to dig out a lot just so I could fully understand the stuff in here. But if you're ready and confident, seriously, get this book. It's well worth the price, for the sheer amount of tips, tricks, and woo-woo life hacks in here. Or if you just want to amp up your fun side using the Tarot. Whatever works for you.

Great Follow-Up To The Previous Book
Like many of the previous reviewers, I read this book after finishing The Easiest Way To Learn Tarot Ever. I found that book to be an excellent introduction to Tarot. It’s very much a stand-alone resource, with card definitions, exercises, and a good collection of spreads from basic to more advanced. (He starts with one card spreads and moves all the way to a modified Celtic Cross and a 12 card astrological spread.) The exercises are geared towards building a relationship with the deck, and (once you’ve mastered card meanings) giving more fluid, intuitive readings.Advanced Tarot Secrets continues where the last book left off. While the prior book is geared towards getting a person from a beginner level to proficiency, ATS is geared towards increasing that proficiency to the point that one could read professionally for others. The book is divided into five sections:- New exercises- New games- Advanced spread basics- Advanced spread techniques- Fun things you can do with the TarotThe first two sections will be familiar to anyone who’s read the first book. It’s a new set of exercises and new ways of learning the cards. The next section, advanced spread basics, is where things kick up a notch. It gives examples of what questions to ask, and what type of spread to use for different sorts of questions, and what to expect when working with clients.Advanced spread techniques, the next section, talks about building a connection with clients, and goes into great depth about how to work with the Celtic Cross variant taught in the previous book. Here the reader is presented with multiple ways to analyze the same spread to yield a greater amount of information. Six pages (with examples) are devoted to what Dusty calls ‘mini-spreads’ found within the Celtic Cross, and explain what sort of information can be gleaned from each one. The last section of the book is devoted to advanced uses for the Tarot. It’s 75 pages long, and 45 pages are devoted to manifesting with Tarot cards. By this point the book has taken us beyond Tarot for divination, and into its more esoteric uses.I am writing this review approximately a year after purchasing both books. I've worked my way through the first book and am currently working my way through this one. Dusty's writing style is casual and to the point, and he's very good at getting his knowledge of the cards across in a way the reader can benefit from. Both books purchased together are less than fifty dollars. For that price, a whole lot of knowledge is provided – enough to take a person from novice to professional, if that person genuinely applies his or herself to the task. So yeah - five stars.

Great but...
Great book but heavily relies on you doing exercises with others. The author assumes you have someone to pair up with and do the activities. And constantly bangs on about joining the online community , which isn’t for me. I like to learn alone.

Brilliant so far
I haven't quite finished this book yet. I say finished which is the wrong term to use of course, as this book will be read over and over and delved into a million times and more.I love Dusty's work and have his last book too, which is another brilliant helpful way to learn, The Easiest Way as it says in the title, and is true to it's word.I could have had this book (ATS) for free, as Dusty had offered some who gave first reviews on his last book a free copy of this one. I'm afraid I couldn't wait on it coming from America....I wanted the book....and NOW!!!! lol!!Anyway I've got it, and as usual Dusty explains everything in beautiful, simple terms. He even uses little scenario's with the cards speaking to each other as a kind of aid memoire. He does this to great use in the last book too. This book, as the title suggests is more advanced, but still in an easy style which is understandable to all who have dipped into the wonderous world of Tarot. It's full of games and exercises to help you get even more in depth information from your spreads. Information. so often missed by a lot of readers.Dusty also wanders a little down the path of astrology and astrological associations in this book, though not too much. Just enough to let you get the idea. I do believe there will be another book to cover this subject in the pipeline at some point.Anyway, loads to do in this book, I don't want to go into too much detail and waste it for you....... If you love everything Tarot you'll love Dusty's work on youtube and in his books.........Buy this!!!

and so glad I came across it
I am halfway through reading this book, and so glad I came across it. It has really opened up and enhanced my Tarot experience and I am enjoying every page. I have read a number of books on how to read the Tarot, but I have particularly enjoyed Dusty's writing style. It's almost as if he is in the room with you, talking through his tips on how to read the Tarot, giving examples and exercises in a light hearted and informative way. I would thoroughly recommend his book to any aspiring Tarot reader, as he shows an alternative and fun way of reading the cards.
