Don't do it! It's separating at the top.
I wanted to make a nice tort pick guard for an oddball guitar and I thought this would be an inexpensive way to go. Well, it's cheap but I wish I'd bought something higher quality.First of all, it is very thick (it's FIVE layers thick, not three or four as one would expect) which caused some slight problems but nothing too serious. Second, it looks...blurry? Like the top layer is actually a photograph of tortoise shell plastic and it's slightly out of focus or printed on a printer that isn't high enough resolution to pull it off.But the real problem is durability: the top clear layer is separating from the colored layer, leaving areas that are foggy looking. I have only had this thing on my guitar for a month or two! I saw a reference to this in another review and thought it was user error. Nope, it's the product.Really regretting this purchase. Fortunately, this particular guitar is no showpiece but I had planned to use more of this same sheet for one of my really nice guitars. Not now!I am giving it two stars rather than one because the colors are nice, the price was low, and it did come with a couple layers of protective peel-away plastic on the top surface, which made it easy to cut and shape without scratching. Now if only they could figure out how to keep all the layers stuck together...

Finicky material
Found this material to be extremely brittle and hard to work with. Lots of chipping and cracking while I tried saw/drill it. Also, the product arrived a bit scuffed up with a small spider crack on it. The piece was way larger than I needed, so I was able to find plenty usable parts out of it. I ended up cutting (melting) it with a soldering iron and then sanding the edges for the control plate I needed. It came out okay that way, but I still didn’t like the overall look as the gold didn’t quite match the rest of my guitar.

great color
good size piece of three layer plastic. seems to be bonded well, no separation or bubbles. if i cut it right i should be able to get at least three, possibly four pick guards out of this one piece. i bought the aged white and it looks fantastic. there is a layer of black between the two white pieces. this was a good purchase, and i wouldn't hesitate to order from here again.

It’s big!
It’s a huge hunk! It cuts easy with a dremel, and it makes great pickguards.

Great!
A nice, large piece. Big enough to do 2 strat pick guards. I still think its a bit expensive for a piece of plastic, but it is high quality and durable. Comes with a thin sheet of plastic on it to protect it. Peel that off and its shiny and clear.

It's the real deal
It is real deal pickguard wbw blank. Standard thickness. Has protective shield layer. I have not yet got to project I'm going to use it on so cannot comment on fabrication but it should be no problems. Its a great price for diy people.
