Oatey Oatey Hercules 20412 Glug Crystals Drain Opener, 16 Ounces

Been having the an issue in the shower where the water would not drain... Used glug up on the plumber suggestion and it worked pretty well, no more stagnant water in the shower.

About ten years ago our plumber pulled Glug out of his bag of plumber stuff and showed it to me. He advised that it was a really good product. My plumber is fab and very knowledgeable so I listened to him. I remember seeing the price at first and thinking that it was a little rich for a drain opener but went ahead with the purchase anyway. That bottle lasted about 8 years if you can believe it. It's very different. Not a liquid but flakes, small flakes. You don't use much so it lasts. The flakes need a little help to get into the drain so I occasionly use a knife to work them in. Don't let that scare you because Glug does exactly what it is supposed to and does it well. It leaves the drain so clear you'd think it was brand new. No smell that I can tell and once you get over the initial price you will be ever so happy. It lasts a long, long time. As you might be able to tell I love this stuff! Toodles!

Works very well. Very strong! Use eye protection. Works best when the sink is not filled up with water. Very caustic, but it works. a few pellets is all that is needed. A few minutes later run water through. Follow directions.

My house is old, so I have always have a problem on my shower drain doesn't matter how often I clean it. It always clogs. But this product clean it fast and it's been weeks and so far still working.

This is hands down the best product that I have used for clearing drains. I ordered 6 bottles for the 70 year old apartments I service as all of the waste pipes are cast iron and corroded. They clog very easily with hair and what not. The bottles came in one box, packed with only one small piece of packing material. One of the caps had worked it's way loose and there were crystals everywhere. Hopefully I will get another to replace it but Amazon needs to do a better job of packing.

I have tried and tried many drain clearing products. This one is the best, for sure. Here is how I get the drain cleared in my house. You MUST get the water Warm to hot, before you start to use this stuff. If the drain is clogged just run the water until it gets warm to hot into a cup and pour the water from the cup into to a bucket. You must bail out as much water as you can until the sink/tub is clear of water. Once the water is warm to hot, shut it off and put 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the Glug flakes on the drain. Remember to wear gloves and eye protection, cause this stuff is dangerous to us humans. Now slowly run the warm to hot water for 5 seconds and stop. The flacks will now melt and begin to do their magic. Wait a few hundred seconds and this stuff will clear out your drain.A very important step is once your drain is clear, you now need to run the hot water for a good 4-5 minutes to clear this strong stuff out of your home system. While you need some good PPE to use this stuff (chemical-resistant gloves, chemical rebreather, lab goggles), it eliminated my slow-flowing shower and sink drain issues in 5 minutes with just one use. The stuff at the hardware store is great for complete clogs, but it rarely did anything to alleviate slow drains, whereas this stuff knocked it out in a single use every time I've used it.
