Great into book to kundalini yoga
This is the 6th time I've bought this book. A friend gave me a copy almost 30 years ago and I loaned it to someone who never returned it. So I bought a copy. And thus started the pattern of me loaning my copy or just giving it to someone. But I keep coming back to it because it's a great book....for beginners and people deeper into their own practice. While the information on chakras has developed (it's not just 7 chakras), this book remains relevant and useful.

Incredible book
I recommend this book to many friends. It really upped my meditations by diving deep into my energetic centers as I sit. The content is super straight-forward and free from woo-woo, just a solid guide to chakra meditation and how to awaken your energy body.

Great book, full of lots of information!
I liked that this book explains about the topic how the author came to learn about it. It is written in language you can understand and goes step by step into this process.

If you want instructions, this book is for you.
I bought this book and The Book of Chakras at the same time and love them both. This one though actually tells you how to awaken the Chakras. He gives easy to understand and precise information on this and has an encouraging way through out the book. It's not a colorful book, it's not loaded with pictures as is The Book of Chakras, but it is detailed in the simple exercises. Actually, I came up with my own meditation, as he suggusted we all do, combining what rang true to me out of both books.For a beginner I would most definately recommend this book with its simple and easy to understand exercises. I do the exercises when convienient through out the day and they are so relaxing if I do them at night in my bed I fall promptly to sleep before completing them.

Some hope yet
Not something I can read straight through, and then apply. Looks good, though. Tried breathing exercises - still doing them, now along with Root and/or Sex Chakras. Maybe I'm not doing it right. I tried 20 -30 minutes, but then cut back to 4-5 minutes. Didn't seem to make any difference. But I'm still doing it. Can't proceed to the second half of the book until the first part is incorporated/balanced. Seems like a worthwhile investment, but only if some difference is noted. I've been doing this now for two months. I haven't tried any other similar product. Can't say that it meets my expectations.

A Bit Pedantic
This "gentle" guide to chakra activation is so gentle that it put me to sleep and not in a good way. Still, it does offer insight into an interesting form of yoga. For those of you doing yoga-as-sport, kundalini may not be your style. For those of you doing yoga-as-spritual-practice, kundalini may be just right. I suggest going to the library or taking a class about it before purchasing a book. It will make more sense that way.

A superb book. For anyone interested in how to mediate, using and activating the chakras, this is a book you want in your library.This book has helped me tremendously. The author has extensive knowledge and experience. He has studied with and trained with some well known names in eastern and western philosophy/medical science. gd

Great book
This book is amazing, actually. Very clear instructions and very clear results. Simple yet profound. Nice descriptions of the chakras and associated emotions/psychology

Interesting, easy read
Quite down to Earth, honest sounding explanation and demonstration of Kundali and the author's exploration of the subject. Easy to follow and not as "out there" as some other books I have tried.
