Samsung Genuine battery Li-Ion for Galaxy S5 (GT-I9600 / SM-G900F) (replaced EB-BG900BBEGWW)

This is a review of 'Samsung Genuine battery Li-Ion for Galaxy S5 (GT-I9600 / SM-G900F)(replaced EB-BG900BBEGWW)'.Pros: my phone no longer heats up when I charge it.Cons: the battery barely lasts for a day...Samsung no longer support their older tech, make no mistake!; when I visited the Samsung Store, they informed me that there are no longer any original parts available .I just wanted the battery to fit my old Galaxy S5, which it does, and everything else is a bonus.

On opening it had 50% battery.Charged it fully and it soon went down to 20%Charged it again fully and it soon went down to 10%My current battery-2 years old-keeps its charge to 50% with the same usage.I suspect this "new replacement" is older than my current batteryA total waste of money

It certainly looks identical to the one it replaced and to begin with it held its charge well and lasted with little drain. But then it started behaving erratically with 20% power drops in less than 40 minutes of just listening to Spotify – some of it offline. And then on one shift it was dead after less than 8 hours and I had not even used the phone. On another shift I had to recharge it twice and then on another after 14 hours I’ve still got around 50%. At times it also gives off a lot of heat.I recently saw a programme about fake products including a raid on a business selling fake Samsung products – the stuff they were selling looks exactly like the originals and I wonder whether this could be a fake?

Sadly this battery is no good, won’t hold a charge - goes from full to zero within 6 hours, and that’s if I’m NOT using the phone! It seems to be a genuine Samsung part so I don’t understand why it is so useless.

Wrong item sent took 5 weeks of endless emails asking for serial number then photos then had to print out a 6 page form to actually send the product for a replacement . This company made it so difficult to exchange I believe they did this in the hope that I would give up because of the hassle they were creating to send the item back . Normally I wouldn't bother because of the agro and being as it wasn't that expensive but because it became apparent that this seller was deliberately putting up hurdles so to speak , like a lot of companies do .I thought no not this time even though it cost me the ink the paper and postage to get a replacement it was the principal of the matter if that makes sense.

Tried in vain to find a genuine authentic battery for my Galaxy S5...even Samsung have stopped selling them!..After wasting £10 on a fake that didn't work I bought this battery from Amazon. Was a bit suspicious at first as it was only in a clear plastic wrapper but was a bulk purchase by Amazon from Samsung...and the production date was very recent..works perfectly..definitely an original!

No batteries last forever but if there is nothing wrong with the phone why change it.

I bought this battery thinking it would make phone last for a few hours. My hubby doesn't use phone much at all, but this battery didn't make power last for any longer than the old battery. All though it was cheap, it was a waste of money.
