Truth is logical
Some fallacies are born in ignorance, some in purpose. All falsness is born on Hell. As believers being in a relationship with the one true God, we need to be able to know what is ignorance, purpose, and spiritual. God's word is the primary truth detector. Discerning Truth is a great tool assisting us in doing battle against purpose and spiritual attacks on our beliefs. Remember when it is ignorance use Love. Great read worth owning and giving away.

Excellent Resource for Identifying and Analyzing Logical Fallacies
This is a well written and informative book on the fundamentals of logic, making a logical case and identifying and dissecting logical fallacies. The focus of the book is on logical fallacies employed by Darwinism in the Creationism v. Darwinism debate, however the fundamentals learned are useful in spotting logical fallacies used in many other hot button issues. Ex: "We need common sense laws to stop gun violence" (fallacy or reification - giving something inanimate concrete characteristics - guns cannot commit violence, people commit violence using guns). What is especially useful is the list of logical fallacy examples and test at the end of the book - this allows the reader to practice what they have read to reinforce the learning - brilliant. Thank you Dr. Lisle for an excellent book.

Good introduction to logic
I like this book. It gives a nice introduction to logic, and especially to logical fallacies that one encounters when defending our true origins to those who reject the historical and scientific evidence. If you already have the author's pocket guide to logic, then be aware that this larger book is essentially a more fleshed out version of the smaller one. I read the smaller book first, and this one didn't really add a whole lot that was new. There are also 40 some pages of examples and explanations that are presented in numbered-paragraph format. It's not the sort of material one just sits down and reads through. I skipped by it. Some might find it helpful though. There's also a very nice appendix at the end giving all the formal names of the various fallacies. The list includes the Latin names, and I like having that list as a reference.

An apologist's dream.
I once saw a three picture cartoon on philosophy. Picture one depicted a young student standing under a sign that was entitled 'PHILOSOPHY'. He is saying, "I love Philosophy!" Picture two shows him being handed with a pile of books on 'Formal Logic'. Picture three shows him declaring, "I hate Philosophy!"Well, no more. This must be the answer to thousands of students' prayers. Buy it! This book will enable all that want to become skilled in recognising and refuting fallacies to be able to do so without getting bogged down in emotive double-speak. Dr. Jason Lisle has taken the study of 'correct reasoning' and given it a wonderful new life!I love philosophy!

Thoroughly enjoying this product!
This is an expanded version of Lisle's pocket guide, "Logic and Faith" which I am using to teach a small group of homeschoolers this coming year. In this volume, Lisle explains the logical fallacies committed by evolution and how believers can spot them for what they really are. I really appreciate his common sense approach and easy to read/comprehend style of writing. But most importantly, I love and appreciate his commitment to God's Word as the only source of truth and logic.

Very important to not lose sight of logic in any debate. Emotionalism doesn't cut it, irrational answers don't cut it, only ideas that are logical, truly logical, based on all the laws of logic are valid. Logic only stems from a Biblical world view. The challenge to anyone is to prove this statement wrong. Or surrender!

Fantastic Book
Jason Lisle is a great teacher, and he uses presuppositional apologetics. This book answers logical fallacies that evolutionists will often throw at creationists. He dissects and dismantles nonsense with an engaging style.

Jason has a great ability to articulate these topics, of course he has been at it for a while, but none the less excellent.

Great introduction to logic and rhetoric!
As someone who has never taken a course in logic, debate or rhetoric, I found this to be the perfect introduction to the subject. It's not a very long read and touches on the common fallacies used in the creation vs evolution debate. I really liked that Dr Lisle was honest in calling out fallacies creationists use as well.

Jason Lisle does not disappoint!
Great book for learning about Logical Fallacies. I bought it on Kindle but would recommend getting it as a regular book. It is a very good tool!

Not what I expected
I was looking for a book that a answered some c,ear questions like : what is discernment and why is it important; how does Christian discernment differ from non-Christian discernment; and, how does the nature of the Gospel help me discern the truth? This book went no where near answering that! What it focuses on rather are the basic fallacies and then guarding yourself against them. It is therefore one domensional and not really about discenment. Most of the material is available on the Internet and given the price it is poor value for money.
