I just returned from St Petersburg Russia where I had the privilege of visiting the three year old Faberge museum. Seeing them in person was amazing and I tried to get a book from their gift shop but it was only in Russian. I took great photos but wanted something more, this book gives great detail on the gems I saw and also other items. The quality of the photos is great too, if you like gems or are a fan of Faberge you will love this book.

I own over 25 books relating to Faberge and Russian goldsmithing...some older, some exciting to have found in the "marketplace", most are insightful and then there is that rare "blah" exception...and this is one of the latter...had I realized this was a new reprint of an 89 title I wouldn't have been shocked...the Faberge photos are by now all familiar (with the rare exception) as is the saga of Forbes and his quest. Although some of the lesser known artists have been brought to light here it just seems to lack that "spark" despite a shining new format!Beyond a 7 pound reference base for photographs nothing much will be added to one's collection on the master and those who envied his talents...I am sorry to say! I hope Faber's new book will stand out above this one!

This is a very complete book about Faberge's House Jewelry. The book comes with many great photographs of many famous and less known Faberge's Jewels, specially the Imperial eggs. If you like Jewelry and its History of just the Imperial Russia Historic period I really recommend you this wonderful book.

Lavish photographs of some amazing things along with some great background about Faberge and Russian Imperial items in general. There is a lot of forgery in this field. Get to know the difference between reproductions and the real thing. 95% of the reproductions are easy to spot with some research and by looking at the "real stuff".

I ordered this book and had an ideia how it could be....and when I received it I was impressed!!! For such price you can never buy such a great book!!! It's big and has very good photos.It's the best gift you can offer to someone!Highly recomend!!!

Wonderful book. Less expensive then it's counterparts, but has as many great pictures. It is on my coffee table, and I and my guests enjoy it a lot.

I bought this book after a visit to the fabulous Faberge museum in St Petersburg. It is quite outstanding, not only for the quality of its contents but for the excellent price. It would make a wonderful present and I would heartily recommend it if you have just been to St Petersburg or have just returned. If you can't go there this book will take you there. Buy it.

A truly outstanding book. It charts the history of Faberge, has many stunning colour photos and I doubt that you could find a better book on the subject. It is a very large book by the way and is a bit too tall to stand upright on our bookcase.

It was requested present and very good value for money. Fantastic book with lots of decent quality pictures. As it was previously used and bought as used than cover had signs of use - but finally it is not about cover than 5*. This way Someone is happy and book got second life.

This is a quite exquisite book. Packed with outstanding photographs of some of the Russian Masters finest creations. A book you can pick up and look in awe at the craftsmanship at any time. I love it.
