My X4 heavy duty case
This is the case I use when I'm working outside or doing anything where I think my phone is going to get knocked around. Not my EDC because it adds a little more bulk than I normally like, but that's the trade-off for protection. Very tight fit, so use caution if your going to swap it out. I have dropped my phone on cement a couple of times while it was wearing this case and it totally protected it.

Great protection and feels good in the hand
It took forever to figure out how to get this case apart.....seriously, I thought I was going to break it...but when it did separate, the phone slipped right in and the buttons were perfect. This case has a solid rubbery grip and it seems like it will add quite a bit of protection from day to day drops....almost like an Otter case. It does add a few millimeters of bulk, but completely protects the camera and gives a good amount of distance between the screen and some other surface. On another note, I was able to use a much wider USB-C charging cable than my last case would allow..making it more universally friendly. Overall, I think this i a great case and will secure your phone properly!

Grips on the side make it very difficult to use
I bought this case a little on the rush and I didn't pay enough attention to the specs (my fault completely.). I wanted something durable, but it's huge and bulky and makes my phone difficult for my hand to hold. It is very durable, though, and I appreciate that.My biggest problem with it, however, is that it has funky grips all around the phone with the EXACT feel of the power and +/- button buttons (which it also makes into one button instead of keeping it two separate buttons like it is on the phone.) I like to turn my phone on and off without having to look every single time. I really, really love to turn the sound up and down without pushing every fake button on the side of the phone and then finally accidentally turning it off.Anyway, I find it a huge pain to use.Find something durable that doesn't have button sized grips on the side.

Big time protection - VERY Grippy
This is a grippy, and highly protective case. Drop it and it will bounce. Very easy for big hands to grip. Will not slide out of your pocket. But it is large, and somewhat difficult to open. (Use a credit card under the black strip around the edges.) But if you want a case that will protect the phone when it slides off a table or out of your hands, this is the one for this phone. I got mine in Mint (green-ish) color and it made it much easier to find than the black case I used to have. There is room for a protective glass face-protector screen and the lip on the front and back will protect the face and the camera from scratches when laid on a surface. The little doors protecting the headphone jack and USB-C power plug are attached, and keep lint and stuff out of the openings. Note, if your headphone plug does not fit into the opening, just file the plug a little (usually plastic) and it will slip in. Only one of my headphones required that. The plastic of the case is quite a bit tougher to file.

Seems well built and tough...
..and most importantly... it prevents my Moto X4 from slipping and sliding all over the place!I thought my previous phone, HTC M8, was about the slipperiest phone in the world until I got the X4. This thing slipped off my FLAT desk when I sat it down the first time! LOL I dropped my phone half-dozen times in the first week I got it before I bought this case. This case added the grip and protection required. I've dropped it twice in the month since adding this case without worry/damage.Great price! A bit of a pain to put on the first time as getting the two pieces to separate was no easy feat. But that just let me know that it wouldn't be coming apart once I got the phone in.The first thing I did was cutoff the port covers for the headphones & charger ports... no way in hell was I gonna put up with those things every day!

Thought it was a good buy... BUT!?
I was looking for this type of protection for my phone but no belt clip. Not a deal breaker. Great price point. But the real problem was screen functionality after I put the case on my phone. Could not swipe left right down up properly. Which would not cut it. This is not my 1st rodeo with cases like these. I have had an OtterBox & or Seidio case on my phone's since my samsung Galaxy note 2. This Moto X4 is no different. With that said I did not have any of those problems previously on those cases. but the cino case I did. So I'm going back to my Spigen rugged armor with a tempered screen. That's my been my go to setup for my last 3 phones when OtterBox or Seidio is unavailable. also they are slick with a Amazon no return so you have to contact directly via email. I will update when I get a refund or not. Cheers

Fantastic!
I've, accidentally, launched my phone numerous times only to have it land without any damage whatsoever. The edges are raised so that the screen is not the first thing to land when it goes down screen side down. The rubberized case is very useful when one is working out or otherwise dealing with compromised grip.

Overall a good case
This is a good protective phone case, though it is a bit difficult to put on. Yes, it DOES allow for a screen protector.I found it helped to flex the case a little before separating the hard plastic front from the main body, just a light bend is enough to loosen it up a little. Then separate the hard plastic from the TPU body on one long side, then down to the bottom. Once the plastic portions of the charger and headphone ports are separated, the rest of the case should separate fairly easily. When putting it back together put the bottom part on first, to keep things lined up, then snap the plastic face in all the way around. You may have to move the TPU bumper a little to make it sit flat again. Do not hold the skinny plastic bit below the front camera though, that part is pretty weak and I snapped it off by accident. A nail file was perfect to get rid of the resulting sharp corners. All in all, this is a good case and has saved my phone from a couple of drops already.
