Screws rust very quickly and are too long
The plastic box, itself, is sturdy. It comes with a length of gasket that you must cut to size and fit into a channel around the edges (so be careful! If you cut it too short, there's not enough for a second attempt!)The screws go thru the box at the corners (obviously) outside the perimeter of the gasket. The screws are much longer than necessary, and very fine threads, so you have A LOT OF turns to tighten them into place. Also, the screws are not rust resistant and quickly begin to corrode. The attached picture shows them after a few weeks.

Large box: but nice
Actual usable inside dimensions are affected by inner corner stanchions that measure 3/4" x 1/2" , so the usable square area is 174mm x 75mm 6.8"x2.9". But if you can knock out the corners on your project, the usable area is 192mm x 112mm 7.6"x4.45". Inside Height is 1.55" to lip - minus small risers, add just under .5" for inside top. Small risers are .2" but can be ground flat. Subtract 0.45" of perimeter on compartment if small risers must remain.

Poor QC, wasted supplies and time!
I received the junction box and proceeded to finish my solar project. Drilled holes and caulked the junction box in place and went to screw down the lid. Discovered that one of the metal screw holes didn't have any threads! Poor QC and wasted time and supplies!!

The molded-in brass inserts are nice
... as are the SS screws and lid gasket. But don't even think of installing this unit outdoors, because the brittle polystyrene resin is the very cheapest variety, long since abandoned for use in children's toys. A few pennies more per unit, and they could have had a really class product.

great weatherproof box except for the screws
The box is sturdy and has good seal that you do need to carefully cut to size. The screws rust and after half a year in my Los Angeles back yard (almost no rain) I can't open the box.I did find metric M4 screws (12 for $2) at Lowes that will not rust and fit right in.I will be getting another box because this one needs to be replaced. I wish the box came with better screw or at least not advertised as waterproof.

Nice project box, but tough to mount as-is
Great project box overall. I had to modify it a bit for my needs of running a few cords in and out of it (extension cord in, other devices plugged in inside the box, then those cords running out of the box).So I cut a notch in the side. This ultimately made it not waterproof anymore, which was fine for my purposes. The only downside I experienced is that the box comes with 4 holes outside of the waterproof box area for mounting (which would normally be a good thing). However, in order to use them, you need extremely thin screws (thin screw heads too) that can travel down a cylindrical area of a few inches. That didn't even come close to working for me. Easy fix: I drilled 4 holes in the bottom of the box and used them to mount it.

Cheap Chinese toy plastic. Don't know what else to say. I returned it.

Waterproof and handles heat and cold
Built a plug and play adapter for snowplow headlights. Plug the truck wiring into this box and 2 pigtails come out, one attaches to the truck lights and the other to the plow lights. The circuit I built inside automatically switches between the truck and plow lights when the plow is attached. I was unsure how it would hold up with the heat in the engine compartment but It has made it through 2 winters so far and still holding up great.
