Wonderful book for toddlers
I bought it for my 2.5 year old LO. It is so colorful that she wonders and relates the pictures so well. Lot of facts understandable for the little ones. Thank you Usborne and Amazon.

Excellent book
The Usborne Beginners series are lovely books, bright colourful and full of information. I use these in the pre-school I work in and the children live them. This book is no exception, and the children loved looking at the pictures and the book prompted discussion and questions about flowers, which was great. Combined with a simple growing project, e.g sunflowers, this is a really informative book for children.

Introducung natural to small children
These guides serve to provide young children into biology and show how different species inter-react to the benefit of other species. Hopefully foster a lifelong interest

Great nonfiction book for a non-reader
My daughter asked specially for this one out of the Usborne series, as she wanted to know more about flowers. It's easy enough for her to read without too much difficulty, and contains lots of interesting little bits of information that kids find fascinating.

Very Good
I've had lots of good reading time with my girls with this book. We planted seeds together this past spring, and it was wonderful that my 3-year old had an understanding of 'roots' and 'shoots' prior to seeing them materialize from her efforts. Lots of basic plant knowledge elements that can be talked about over and over.

Excellent Introduction to Flowers for little ones
After running out of renewals at our local library, I had to buy this book for my son, then 5. Now he's 7 and he still enjoys this book and reads it to his 5-yr old sister. This is a great introduction to the science of plants, and I highly recommend it for other homeschoolers, especially with kids in pre-K or Kindergarten. It contains complex concepts in easy-to-understand bites of information, and the pictures are a mix of real photographs and high quality drawings. All of the sections are good, but there are a few that have been read over and over in this house. They include:Seeds to SeedlingsBuds to FlowersPollen and NectarSpreading seedsRainforest flowersKiller PlantsThe Usborne Beginners series is a favorite in this house, but How Flowers Grow is the kids' favorite out of all of them. I'm glad I bought it.

A great addition to our library...
This 32 page book is a great book to teach young children the basics of flowers and plants. It begins talking about seeds and follows the general life cycle of plants. This book discusses how plants make food, how flowers bloom, how pollination occurs and leads to making seeds, and the different ways those seeds get spread. It also talks about different places plants grow (desert, water, and rain forest) and even "killer" plants. It has beautiful illustrations and pictures and includes a glossary and an index. My children are SO excited about this book!
