Great for ultralight backpacking
Remarkable functionality in an ultralight and small package. The lowest setting turns on 1st and is good for 115 hours! This is sufficient to read by and not blind me when waking up at night to look for gear. The mid level is bright enough to navigate in the dark and is good for 6.5 hours. The brightest setting is useful to see much further but eats batteries so use it sparingly. Same applies to using the strobe. Unlike tail switches this flashlight has a twist switch which will not accidentally be turned on in your pack. The pocket clip is best mounted to allow it to be clipped on a hat brim to become a hands free headlamp. As it uses a single AAA. I invest in lithium to reduce weight, increase battery life and ensure it workS in extreme cold. Spare AAA batteries weigh so little to pack to ensure enough light for multi day trips. Best ultralight option I’ve found so far!

Mini lampe torche ThuNite
Produit remarquable, bien fini, semble solide.

Compra totalmente recomendada.

Small, Useful, Bright, Expensive
UPDATE: Below this updated review is my original review............Before I go on I'd like to say that I've up'd the rating to 5 star from a 3 star. The reason being is that I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THIS THING!!!!I never realized how much I would use a pocket flashlight. I purchased this in Feb 2016, it's now Nov. and I've come to love this tiny little pocket light. It's amazing how much light and life you can get out of a AAA battery and how bright it can be. The issues I had in the beginning are somewhat still there but, hardly matter anymore. A pushbutton might be better but I'm now used to twisting it and it's easier than it was when new. The intensity of the light depends greatly on the battery power. Even though the battery last a long long time, a weak battery gives you a weak output. I normally use the low setting now instead of the high, mainly to save battery but also because it still has plenty of light. I only use high when I need some SUN. I've even used the Firefly setting when I've needed just enough light to see something close but not disturb anyone. Also, I had taken one star off because of the cost. Now the light sells for about $4 less. That helps. If I really needed a pushbutton I would buy one with a pushbutton. I have grown to love my ThruNite Ti3 and use it all the time. It is so small it became a normal part of my pocket stuff and I carry it like I do my pocket knife. You won't regret buying this light............................................1st Review:Since I'm not an expert on miniature flashlights, and I haven't tried any others this small, I can only tell you my personal feelings about this ThruNite Ti3. It has 3 settings, excuse me, 4 settings. The reason I think of only 3 settings is because the Firefly setting is just about what it says, FIREFLY. If you know how much light a firefly puts out, you get the picture. It's worthless to me but, to someone else it might be just the thing. For what, I have no clue since I can put it to my eye and it wouldn't bother me. The other settings include Low, High, and Strobe. So far I mostly use the High setting. I'm not sure I'll ever use the strobe but you never know. I love that it only takes one AAA battery and is not much bigger than that. I carry it in my pocket. The clip I don't use now but, you can clip it to your pocket or reverse the clip and put it on you cap. For others you can hold it in your mouth if the need arises. It seems well constructed so I'm hoping for a long life. The thing I don't like the most is the "switching" of the light. They describe it like this, "Convenient twist switch design for better one handed operation". What? Twisting is easier one handed than a push button??? Not my Hulk hands! In my case a button would be better. Also, when "switching" between settings, it starts with Firefly, then Low, and finally High and followed by Strobe. That's a lot of switching (turning back and forth) before getting to the High setting. To me it should be High, Low, Firefly, and then Strobe. I think I understand the reasoning of why they did it that way but, personally I'd rather have it my own way. Too bad you can't program it yourself. Hint Hint if you're reading this....... Also, the main reason for 3 stars is that I personally believe this flashlight could be sold for much less. Cheaper would have brought 4 stars. A button would have brought 5 stars. Figure it out.
