Nice little heat lamp
I hatch eggs and use these lights to keep my chicks warm and comfortable, those big heat lights they sell for brooders are way to hot and can cause fires. I’ll stick with these !

My only complaint..
Great light, perfect for what I needed, and just the right amount of heat. My baby turtle loves it. My only complaint is that it burned out pretty fast. I read that it does in some of the reviews, but hey, it was what I needed and I was gonna take the chance. I'm not too mad though, because it's relatively inexpensive compared to some lights I've seen. I'm ordering another, hopefully I just got a defective light and my next one will last a little longer.

Works well in a brooder for raising chicks
This is a good, inexpensive bulb that I'm using to keep chickens warm while they're growing. I started them out with a 75 watt incandescent, which provided more heat, but made it difficult for them to sleep. I really like that this one gives off enough warmth for them to be comfortable, allows them to sleep, and uses less electricity than a lot of the other heat lamps out there. I've been running it constantly for the last two weeks and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing to provide heat for reptiles or birds, and I would definitely buy this product again.

Wonder what took so long to make a lower watt available
I really like this infrared heat lamp, I just wonder what took so long to make a lower watt lamp available to the general public. I am using it to brood baby pheasant and baby chicks. The higher watt (350) bulbs really are a waste of energy and heat. When you are brooding only a small amount of baby chicks, you don't need a high temp, and to get the right temp, you raise up the lamp fixture from the box, this light keeps the right temp, right around 90degrees for newly hatched, and in about 5 to 7 days will raise it up so the temp will be about 80 to 85 degrees. Saving energy is a plus.

Low wattage with ok results/
I like the fact that it was low wattage. It seem to be marginal for keeping my chickens warm. Since this one has burnt-out, I have replaced it with a 150 watt bulb; it works better. I pay the price with three times the wattage, but it is worth it for my birds. I guess I was trying to use it for unintended purposes, but wattage is money. For a home reptile situation, it probably will work fine.

Zoo Med Nocturnal Infrared Incandescent Heat Lamp 50 Watts
I'm so glad that I ordered this! Our dog is an outdoor dog and we live in a cold climate. The light gave enough heat for my dog to be comfortable all winter long. I have an igloo dog house that I built a wooden structure around. (Two houses in one!) I bought a chicken house light fixture and used the infrared bulb in it. I was able to put the fixture at the back of the igloo (the roof of my wooden dog house is removable). My dog enjoyed the dog house all winter and has no problem staying warm enough!

Perfect for my finches.
Perfect for using at night for my finches, who can experience "night frights"--this puts out enough heat to use as a hospital light, and not too bright light to allow them to get some rest. Will update after I've used it awhile.
