Great supplemental for homeschool curriculum - 3rd/4th grader
I use this for my 3rd-4th grade homeschool curriculum as supplemental to my normal math curriculum (Math in Focus). I like that it is more difficult for my son to solve the problems. It isn't as straight forward and he has to really use his reasoning skills to figure out solutions. I also like that there is a ton of room on each page for the problems to work them out. That might bother some and seem like a waste of space as it really means that even though the book is many pages, there are far less numbers of problems as a whole. However, for us, we did not mind it. I give my son a page or 2 a day generally to keep his interest by using a number of different types of curriculum/tools for homeschooling.

Will buy again and again
Using along with singapore 2a cirricullum. This is a great extra practice book that focuses on challenging the mind, problem solving and troubleshooting. I will be looking to match future curriculums with this style of intensive practice.Concepts are introduced at the beginning of the chapter and lots of pages with lots of space to write out their answers and how they got there.

Math Enrichment with puzzles and "tricks" !
My son is in first grade at our local public school, but moves up to the second grade classroom certain subjects. He is very math-minded and we continue to search for advanced products that will continue to challenge and keep him learning. We thought this Singapore Math Challenge (Grade 2+) workbook would be a good option for him to use at home. We have heard great things about the Singapore Math system of learning, so I was eager to give it a try. The book starts with an introduction to the method, and right away I realized: this is what "Common Core" was supposed to be. The intention is the same: creating a deeper understanding of math concepts by learning how to problem solve and developing critical-thinking skills. It teaches different approaches to simplify problems, and allows students to strengthen their "mental math." This book provides "multiple problem-solving methods to build skill and boost creativity." This is an enrichment book, that is supposed to compliment current Singapore math curriculum for lower grades, but I think this is book provides useful mathematical thinking skills for any age! At the beginning of each chapter is an example or two, and maybe a brief explanation of the concept being presented. The Answer Key with step-by-step solutions is found in the back of the book, and can be torn out easily. Actually, all the pages are easily removable and reproducible! Flipping through the pages, the questions get increasingly more complex and there is a good variety of math skills (time, intervals, addition, division, patterns, tables, beginning geometry, etc...) There is a lot of room to "show work" as necessary. I think this would be a great compliment to a home-school mathematics curriculum, or for others, like us, who are wanting to keep up on their child's math skills. I will try to update with any concerns/comments as we proceed through the book.

Very challenging for 7 years old student. Exactly what I was looking for my son. The books give some examples of how to answer the questin and the answered pages in the back helps too. I believe this will get him ahead as he goes to third grade.

Just like new!
The book was in perfect condition, I would not know it was used if I was not the one who purchased it.The book’s difficulty is just right, not too easy to become boring, not too hard to become not interesting.

Fantastic Maths challenges for 7-8 year olds
Bought this for my 7 year old Year 2 daughter. Fantastic, intriguing challenge problems. Many multistep problems. The numbers and calculations are simple but the logic is tricky. The format is very helpful, problems are broken down into topics and there are about five examples per topic before children can have a go at solving their own variations of the problems. Highly recommended!

Mostly good
This one looks good with decent questions. But some questions used somewhat cute tricks which are meant to trick. For example (paraphrasing), if a grandfather clock takes 2 seconds to strike 2, how long would it take to strike 6? If you guessed 6, you're wrong! But this is a problem only with some questions. Most questions are clear and good, but this is not my favourite book to teach young children.
