SAND MINE Countdown to Christmas Wooden Advent Calendar

I'm so bummed that this is so poorly put together, as it could be really beautiful and is gorgeous in the photos.Everything is glued together very horribly. The number in each square is glued on in slightly different spots, so that they don't line up evenly with each other. Some are higher, some are lower, some are off center or crooked. There are many spots where too much glue was used and not cleaned up, so extra glue can be seen in globs around the numbers and handles. You can clearly see this in the photos I've attached.The boxes themselves were glued together in a similar, sloppy fashion. Some boxes have extra globs of glue at the seams that prevent the drawers from opening or closing all the way. Two wouldn't even open at all, and I was afraid that if I forced it open, it'd break and then I may not be able to return.Possibly the worst of all, which admittedly may not bother most people, but is sort of horrifying to me, is that one of the drawers had what appeared to be a human hair glued into it. I get that if humans are assembling, this may happen, but any quality control before packaging should catch something like that.There's just something gross about pulling out a drawer to find a strangers' hair glued inside. It is glued into the seam and even under the little handle, so without taking the box apart I'd never be able to get all of the hair out. Again, most people would probably say "eh," but this not cool for me.Pretty disappointed, since it took awhile to come and now I need to scramble to get another one here before the 1st. I STRONGLY would not recommend this product, and hope the company uses this review to make some changes in quality.

I bought two for gifts. One had a slightly damaged roof like many others had been from the plastic wrap. And they both had a couple drawers that are harder to open and slightly crooked numbers. The only saving grace is that they are a little "rustic" looking.I wish the roof wasn't damaged and the numbers were straighter but they are still cute.My biggest complaint, however, is the battery pack in one (the damaged roof one) was really hard to open, and once open the light doesn't always turn off. The off switch needs to be in a middle area, not in off position.All that said when the lights are on they look great. I may return the one but I might not have time before I need to give them away, so i am on the fence.

The wood is not very stable and I’m constantly afraid I’m going to break or chip something. The drawers are also super small and I’m struggling to find toys or knick knacks that will fit in them. However, it does look nice on our mantle, and it’s reusable from year-to-year and cost the same amount as a non-reusable advent calendar I purchased last year so I can’t complain too much. If you’re looking for something super sturdy to last a long time (more than a couple years), splurge on one made of more reliable material.

I'd been wanting an advent calendar with drawers so I can reuse it every year. They tend to be quite expensive in my opinion. I came along this and feel like it's a good value for the price. Some of the drawers were hard to pull out, but with time, I think that may get easier. My kids loved a surprise of a candy or small toy each morning counting down to Christmas. I like that it was able to light up as well. Very pretty in the evening.

I was excited about getting an advent calendar for the family, and, honestly, this one has a very reasonable price. About 1/4 of the drawers are very difficult to open - you have to really work at it. We just received it, and one of the little ball handles has already come off, and had to be glued back on. The quality is pretty low, honestly. It does look nice, and light up. Unfortunately- despite the good price, I would not recommend this product.

Solid construction and the light up feature at the top is very pretty. But a couple of the drawers were stuck due to tiny globs of excess dried glue that were catching on the frame. Once I scraped off the excess glue, they worked fine. The glue on my number 15 is a little sloppy, but it is clear glue and not obvious at a cursory glance. Overall this advent calendar is a good value and I plan to use it again in future years.

Mine was not damaged like others have mentioned but the battery cover was hanging off from shipping.If you are looking for a well-crafted piece, this isn't it. Some numbers are crooked and on one of them you can tell it used to have a different number and a new one was glued on. But it looks nice lit up and the price is reasonable so overall I'm OK with it.

I am trying to get as much Christmas shopping/decor done as early as possible this year (for a change!), and when I came across this I really liked the look of it in the pictures, but I wasn't expecting much given the price. I am so happy I took the chance and went ahead with buying it. It is exactly like the pictures if not better. It is wood, not cardboard that looks like wood, but it is still very lightweight and not bulky so I'm not scared a curious child could pull it down and hurt themselves. When it is lit up, it looks so warm and lovely, everything you'd want from a Christmas piece. I love it and I can't wait to put it out on the 1st of December!
