Superb
Excellent tape measure in all aspects. Accurate and clear markings make it a winner at this price.

Utter crap
This was my first Lufkin tape, bought to keep in the kitchen drawer for taking the occasional quick measurement. I bought this one because of Lufkin's reputation for quality tape measures. From new, it failed to retract properly, leaving a 12" to 24" sticking out. Even wiping the blade with WD40 and working it a few times failed to fix it. The blade lock was stiff to operate and after only a few uses, jammed in the unlocked position.Having fixed and restored many tape measures in my time, I decided to take it apart. The case screws were insanely tight, but when I got into it I discovered that the locking mechanism had become displaced (due to poor design) and there was also a kink in the return spring which it must have left the factory with. The return spring was also of poor quality material. I failed to be able to re-tension the blade return to make the tape retract fully so, after wasting more than enough time on it, it ended up in the bin, which is probably where it should have gone in the factory. My advice to you is to buy a tape measure from a reputable brand like Fisco, or even a cheap no-name one. They'll both be better than this. Disappointing, but at least now I know to avoid Lufkin in future.

Awful tape
Only used it a couple of times but it's already bent and twisted. Cheap plastic casing too.

Not the Lufkin of old
The blade lock packed in after a few months. Had only used it a few times. I’ve got a Lufkin tape I’ve had for 25 years and not had any issues.

Rubbish!
The hook on the end is under 90° and slips of the workpiece every chance it gets.
