BOSCH SP515 5 Piece Hex Shank Countersink Drill Bit Set with #6, #8, #10, and #12

I picked up these bits for a particular project with poplar that needed a countersink. Admittedly, this is the first countersink bit I've worked with. Worked with very little resistance and made a perfectly sized hole for my #8 screws. There was a little bit of cleanup needed around the hole before paint but otherwise, worked nicely. I can't speak to how well these will hold up or in harder woods but for an occasional project or someone just getting started, they work well. I only wish that they'd include a storage case but at this price, it's hard to complain.

High quality machining. It allows drilling of the shank and the countersink, but not the pilot hole. I wish someone would make a step drill with the first section a pilot diameter and the second section the shank diameter.

Overall I think Bosch does a good job with their products and these work well but be careful with them. Was using the #6 bit to countersink some screws into a pressure treated 4x4 to make a circular saw jig for joinery and the bit broke working on the second hole. I figured that’s what I get for using it on a big piece of pressure treated lumber. The real frustration I’ve had has been after replacing the bit it doesn’t want to adjust or work the same as when it was bosch’s bit. Overall cool piece.

Just what I needed

Solid construction, buts were tight upon arrival so no issues there. Worked great for the average DIY kinda guy like myself, though I'm sure there are higher quality bits out there, I feel like these are great for the price!

Works like they say

These for the most part work fine. Unfortunately I will be returning this as it's not going to work for all types of screws I use. Certain screws have a small section of reverse-thread (some are knurl like) intended to lock the screw in the wood... so the extra part of this countersink (I'm going to call the counter-bore) cuts into the wood removing the bit of wood that should be making this "lock" which defeats the purpose of those types of screws. I've very likely made over 400 holes with these countersink bits and they still seem sharp enough to leave a clean cut, but still returning these. Honestly I don't see the reason for the extra counter-bore bit of these. I've thought about grinding it off, but why mess with it if I can still return them.

Great product, would be nice if you could buy replacement drill bits to fit though

Not what you would expect from Bosch Two #8 countersinks supplied,one just fitted with a smaller drill in the larger hole so it runs eccentric Rather buy a cheap Chinese product and you might get the same or even better

good drill bits,they work well and are priced so anyone can afford them.
