I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my Mother, and once it arrived I couldn't help but unwrap it and look inside! I absolutely love Chris Jackson's work, so I knew this collection of photos would be lovely! But I was blown away by how wonderful this book actually was! Chris' access to the Royal Family is so personal and intimate, that his photos actually make you feel as though you are getting an insider's perspective into the life of this family. Some of the photos I was familiar with, and others were new - but every single image was just beautiful! And the captions to go along with each photo brought a whole new element to each picture. My mother will absolutely cherish this book - and I will be ordering my own copy now as well. Chris, you are so talented, and this work of art you have put out is just stunning! Well done!! I'm hoping this won't be the only book you release!

This is a very nice book and makes a great gift for any lover of the royal family. Amazing photographs. Nice, heavy weight. Beautiful color .

I knew when I received this book I'd enjoy the photos - I follow Chris Jackson in Instagram & see his photos in newspapers. What I didn't expect was the up close and personal photos that it would contain. Broken down into 9 themed chapters, the photos are less journalistic (i.e. what Getty Images can sell to newspapers) & more creative - Chris uses his craft as a PHOTOGRAPHER to show photos you'd expect to see in a gallery (a shot of Prince Charles' shoe replacing a divot; a close-up detail of Her Majesty's coat). There are wonderful portraits of members of the family (Her Majesty; Prince George on his first day of school; Duchess of Cambridge in Canada). I loved every page.

If you follow the British royal family you have definitely seen Chris's work over the years. His photography is gorgeous and this book compiles some of his favorite photos. The text provides an interesting insight into what it's like to witness these historic events up close. There are some photos I've never seen before so even the most seasoned royal watchers will get some nice surprises. It's a gorgeous coffee table book and an absolute must-buy for any fan of the royal family!

I am proud to own this beautiful volume, which so aptly captures the evolving, twenty-first century British royal family who continue to captivate hearts and engage minds worldwide. Thank you, Chris, for sharing an absolutely fantastically unique lens into the public and private lives of my distant cousins, from Her Majesty the Queen to Princes William and Harry, and beyond.

I got my book in the mail today, and it confirms what I already knew: Chris Jackson is the king of the royal portrait! If you have any interest in the royal family at all, you will LOVE this book. The images are so crisp and even as a very passionate fan, there were many images in here I hadn't seen before. I'm considering ordering a second copy just in case something happens to this one! :)

Otttima lettura

The book really features the most important aspects of being a royal. Supporting charities, visiting places in the UK, the Commonwealth or any country, playing sports but most importantly sticking together as a family. Incredibly beautiful photos and nice stories. If you love the Royal Family you need this book.

I was anticipating the arrival of this book for a couple of months after having seen it mentioned on Instagram, because there has not been a definitive book on the Royal Family that shows them in all their guises during their official duties. Inevitably, anticipation doesn't always result in satisfaction - but this book has exceeded my expectations totally. The Royal Family have devoted their lives to public service yet we still don't see everything in the press apart from the pics they choose to show us. And they have changed with the times. That is one of the reasons I love this book - the other is apart from the amazing photographs, the narrative by the photographer provides a perfect accompaniment as it explains everything you need to know about the moments in time that Chris Jackson has captured. I'm not always convinced about awards and so on, but reading this book has certainly convinced me that this three-time winner of Royal Photographer of the Year is on a different level. Although I am not yet half-way through it, I am compelled to urge anyone who has even the slightest interest in the monarchy, charitable support and Britain's heritage to grab a copy! Fantastic value and a wonderful coffee-table book to boot!
